^ Doubt it, prolly just the owners pushing the city to either get more money or let them sell the team to an outside market

It's leverage. The county will panic seeing this and cave just like Glendale.

The Panthers are just copying the 'best practices' of another successful organization.
After all, if the Jets don't need a sales staff to sell hockey tickets, why should they?

Florida needs to be seeking every possible sale to get to 13k in their building

Apparently because of the change of ownership the Panthers had 2-3 different sales teams, from what ive heard/read, they got rid of the old sales team because they didn't need that many sales/ticket reps.

^ This might be the end of the Panthers. And with all of the upgrades theyve made over the last few years, wouldn't it be ironic if the team won the Cup the year they move to Quebec?

Don't get your hopes up. The mayor was for the 80M million subsidy in the past. What happened was there was backlash so what she probably did was hire a favorable consultant who will say ya the county is better off to pay the 80M and if the county don't pay it the world will end. Then she can claim she was impartial on the whole issue but we have to go along with the consultant because he is an "expert".

^ And then another council member who is against it can send in their guy for a second opinion. The idea of the city letting the team go is coming up somewhere and everyone knows what happened in Glendale.

It don't matter if an individual council member does that. What matters is that there probably is a majority for giving the 80M. Once the "expert" releases his favorable report a vote will be called and enough idiots will vote in favor of it just like Glendale. This whole charade is just for show before they approve the deal.

There has been zero indication that they are in support mike. 80 million after miami and jeff loria? I dont think they will get any money.

They will buckle I bet. There's a chance that even if they don't it may be a hoax and the team will stay. All indications are the team was making money on the overall operation until Vincent Viola took over. Then when he takes over the entire operation is losing money. It could be that he saw what happened in Glendale and thought to himself hey I'm making money overall but let's see if these suckers will cover the hockey operation losses so I can make a ton more. There's a chance too that the council may not give the full 80M but may give less like 60M and declare victory and credit themselves for "protecting the taxpayers and saving the team".
