Sigh. I don't harbor homophobia. I've articulated my thoughts on the issue clearly but getting you to understand is like trying to teach a three year old poker. The law is specific - it addresses propaganda. It is silent on anything else. m. If I recall correctly, you've defended your homophobia by referring to your beliefs being different. I believe religious in nature. If you hated black people, you wouldnt be able to get away with subtle racism on here, especially as a moderator and I'm disappointed your fellow mods allow it to continue, especially compared to other message boards (namely Morning Big Blue which I spoke of earlier). The law is specific eh? You are dispicably naive. But I strongly suspect you know the truth. I wish you'd have the guts to simply state you hate homosexuals and believe they choose their lifestyle. Allow me to explain some of the Russian laws to you: - Early June 2013: Putin signed an antigay bill, classifying “homosexual propaganda” as pornography. The law is broad and vague, so that any teacher who tells students that homosexuality is not evil, any parents who tell their child that homosexuality is normal, or anyone who makes pro-gay statements deemed accessible to someone underage is now subject to arrest and fines. Even a judge, lawyer or lawmaker cannot publicly argue for tolerance without the threat of punishment. - Late June 2013: Putin signed a law allowing police officers to arrest tourists and foreign nationals they suspect of being homosexual, lesbian or “pro-gay” and detain them for up to 14 days. Contrary to what the International Olympic Committee says, the law could mean that any Olympic athlete, trainer, reporter, family member or fan who is gay — or suspected of being gay, or just accused of being gay — can go to jail. - July 2013: Putin signed a law banning the adoption of Russian-born children not only to gay couples but also to any couple or single parent living in any country where marriage equality exists in any form. - it is rumored that Putin is about to sign an edict that would remove children from their own families if the parents are either gay or lesbian or suspected of being gay or lesbian. The police would have the authority to remove children from adoptive homes as well as from their own biological parents Still want to hide behind your propaganda laws?

And we really need to have the NHL season resume. m. Hear, hear, What we really need is for the anti-gay rhetoric to stop and for people who are anti-gay to accept that they are on the wrong end of the debate. Deuce is flat out wrong.

What we really need is for the anti-gay rhetoric to stop and for people who are anti-gay to accept that they are on the wrong end of the debate. Deuce is flat out wrong. actually, what we need is for YOU to accept that people wont always agree with you and that the insults that you fire so frequently to views that arent yours ends. for someone who wants tolerance, you sure are very intolerant. that makes you what again?.

What insults? Not endorsing prejudice isn't an insult. And once again, wrong end of the debate. its very disturbing that certain people feel that homosexuality is an issue that is open for debate. Again, if you came on here and posted anti-black or anti-Jewish or anti-women BS it would not be stood for. Why is it okay to "have a different opinion" of homosexuals? Please, enlighten me. I believe your sexual orientation is established by birth. I believe people have the right to love who they love. I believe people have the right to be free of bigotry for being who they were born. I believe being g-a-y is not a choice. So...you and Deuce have different beliefs? Please, explain why that is acceptable. Please defent Russia's laws (like Deuce tried to until I pointed out the details of his so-called anti-propaganda laws). Go ahead. There has been far more insults and fiery debate by people (not me) over issues that are *actually* open to opinion such as who's the best hockey player etc. Beging g-a-y is not a choice. The right to ones sexual orientation is not open to opinion. You are either a homophobe or you aren't.

actually, UPN, i have not offered my opinion on this matter. not once. Thats unfortunate. Its a no brainer really. You're either a homophobe or you arent and you should feel no qualms about standing up against homophobia. But my point remains. You said I have to accept that not everyone agrees with me. Absolutely not everyone agrees with me. Thats the sad world we live in. This isnt a matter of opinion. It isnt a matter of religious freedom. It's right vs wrong. it's love vs hate. To suggest that I (and everyone else who understands this issue and agrees) am wrong for not accepting that its perfectly okay and reasonable for Deuce to disagree with me is ludicrous. There are people who think black people are inferior. They are wrong. There are people who believe being g-a-y is a choice. They are wrong. Ill always argue in favour of acceptance (not just tolerance). I frequent this board. I have from the beginning and it disappoints me to see a moderator represent this place with such archaic views. Sad.

I tried to tread lightly because it was clear where this thread would end up...and so it has.
UPN is 100% correct though, you either accept the fact that homosexuality is not a choice, and you have no right to dictate who is intimate with who, or you believe this is done by choice and people should have the legal power to stop the same gender from being together.
When I was an immature narrow minded teen, homosexuality was wrong wrong wrong, and I'd have none of it. Growing up sure can change your perspective.
The amazing thing about my change in beliefs is I don't know anyone who's gay, so it's not like my views changed due to convenience.
From the S4 of Grumpz! Phase 1 complete! Now figure out what to do with Buff & find a #1 goalie.

ok ok. here is what i think. being g a y is something that you are indeed born with. however, there are some people who make the choice to be g a y. and that is also fact.
