Micky also was fighting through a yankees lineup, and i believe the higher pitchers mound. He isnt griffey or mickey....And i take one look at trout and see that hgh look. sorry i dont trust players today, and he plays in nowheresville so ya im not gunna care about him lol Power numbers are WAYYYYY down all of a sudden so maybe he is legit but you are right. I wouldn't trust any athlete in any sport. There's too much $$$ and just about any of them would cheat if they had the chance and thought they could beat the system. That's just the way it is. Since when is LA nowwheres ville??

Sorry im still a traumatized 15 year old who saw all his heros crying before congress lol. I havent forgiven the game. and the sox really suck this year which is fine fine but it gets me down on baseball also im less familiar with national issues cause as mikecubs has said baseball is so localized that its hard to keep up with it. Me and mike disagree on a few things, football i think a team in south texas should be regional to draw in 2 cities, I think going into LA without a stadium would be a good idea but thats only wiht a forced sale of the raiders baseball: i see the sports decline, its lost its hero status that it used to have and i think its headed for a cliff because of bud selig. I dont see the big tv numbers as positive as it should be, the game needs national appeal its a stronger base than the current regional cable structure. You know what I respect this opinion even though I am a baseball lover I can see how someone would see it this way. I can't defend the steroid era. But most fans don't care about PEDS. They want entertainment. Fans just VOTED Nelson Cruz onto the all star team 1 year after his PED suspension. Well we mostly agree on everything maybe someday I can convince you soccer=bad LOL IF you go into LA with a forced sale of the Raiders the stadium is then no problem. The downtown LA stadium and the city of industry stadium are 100% approved except the team part. The problem is Davis wants to keep the team in Oakland and Goodall thinks it's a swell idea. San Antonio/ Austin can be regional team with a stadium near one of those cities. Packers are a regional team and Milwaukee-green bay is 25 miles farther apart than San Antonio/Austin. It's only 75 miles apart and 8 games. Both cities are growing like wildfire. I do like the idea of one of those cities getting a team long term. None of the major sports is heading for a cliff unless concussions destroy football. The only question is who makes the most $$$$. I'm willing to bet you MLB, NBA, NHL and MLS will all be MUCH more popular 20-30 years from now than they are now and current revenue figures will look pathetic for each and every sport. Bud is retiring and only a few traditionalist care about the record books. Most people like baseball and always will because it's summer outdoors, there's hotdogs+beer, there's women at the parks with not much on, the retro parks are cool, the game is cheap and affordable due to the volume of games/tickets per year. Don't ever underestimate the last part. National appeal isn't ever going to happen. Not unless you ban local games and go back to the old days of the game of the week being good enough. If any of the other sports goes to 162 they will have the same problem this day and age. One final article. Half of MLB fans will ONLY watch their own team that's it. My guess is that figure is even too high. www.businessinsider.com/the-theory-that-baseball-is-dying-is-a-total-myth-2013-10

btw i tknow the nfl sidelines are not natural....it actually doesnt really bother me as much. The NFL isnt fully driven by numbers like baseball is. /Everything is recorded in baseabll in a way where players are ranked accordingly.
in the nfl i dont care about how many tackles, even sacks is a useless record (strahan was gifted that one).
I worry about baseball because the county seems to yes focus on home teams but the national attention and awareness seems to have sunk. If this was 1993 mike trout would be on every commercial nation wide

If this was 1993 mike trout would be on every commercial nation wide I agree. Numbers aren't important in NFL but still cheating is cheating. The genie is out of the bottle. National attention is NOT coming back. I don't think we will ever see guys as popular/heavily promoted because 1. you don't know if so and so is clean or not. you promote so and so heavily and he fails his drug test wooopsss 2. if guys are clean they aren't going to last as long. Ever since testing it seems like you don't see the massive amounts of guys excelling as 30/40 year olds. Prime age in baseball is 27-30 sabermetric wise. Baseball will promote guys like Trout just not as heavily. What they will focus more on is the team winning, the outdoor aspect, fun-sun-beer-retro park-parity. With testing(I know some guys still cheat but it's not a joke like before) signing 30 year olds to long term deals is not such a great idea anymore. This helps small market teams big time because they never had access to those guys in the past. So with development more important it evens it out more. Plus small market teams have gotten smarter. Everyone uses sabermetrics these days plus most teams figured out the dollars for security trick(locking up star players after year 1 or 2 through their prime years). So more parity will help make up for individual guys not being as popular.

Anaheim is LA. It's part of the metro area:) In a different county haha. Its where white LA moved. LOL. True but it's still LA metro area. If Anaheim wasn't part of LA and on it's own they wouldn't be handing out quarter billion dollar deals to Pujols or 100M plus deals to Mike Trout. They wouldn't have anything close to that TV deal. Anaheim would be a small market with only 3M people.

Da DU DAHHHHHHHH
Problem is Bud selig has a strong relocation threat and the NFL may want davis to shut up and let it happen then voice concern and leave.
"Right now the Oakland council seems cranky about the Raiders’ less than detailed plans, and so is inclined to let Wolff have his way. (Or as much of his way as they have to, anyway.) But then, Davis hasn’t yet sent any late-night emails pointing out the existence of the rest of North America."
Neil hit it out of the park on that statement.
I love the snark and his take on things.
only thing he does that drives me nuts is downplays the actual relocation ability of the oakland raiders.. If the nfl does it right they can easily get a private funded LA stadium ...just means getting roski to buy a little less from davis than desired or Bringing in Kroenke and having a Met life situation in ingelwood.

The angels are unique they can draw tv money from all of Orange County which is big money and white. and they actually have the ability to market to those non dodgers fans in LA

This fascinates me because I think Wolfe is being reasonable saying we stay and just need notice if the raiders are going to..you know RIP DOWN THE BUILDING. How is that not reasonable? If you are going to evict us we want time to leave and get our house in order. The raiders are saying they want it gone right at the end of the year...meaning the A's are EVICTED.
Thats not a way of doing business. The city has the absolute right to say we put this in place so we can work out a better deal.
and the raiders...you have somewhere to go Sorry if you dont want to be patient then leave.
WOlfe wants to develop around the coliseum site, probably has the money to build the stadium if he can develop the retail space.
Thats the big issue both want the site and wnat the retail, davis on the other hand doesnt have the money to build the stadium.
If you are oakland you have to take the new facility and take a hit on the land to avoid bonds and more debt. Gift land get a nice vibrant district, the raiders will find somewhere its the NFL.
