x-Toronto 91-65 New York 86-71
Congratulations Blue Jays. Clinching at least a tie, for the AL East pennant. A win tomorrow in the double header, and the Blue Jays take the pennant.

^If they win both games today and the Royals lose they clinch first overall in the AL this is an unreal baseball team.

Looks like the Jays are going to win the AL East outright. They are destroying the Baltimore Orioles 7-0 in the top of the 5th. I am going to grab some wings and celebrate at the local watering hole.

Yup. They are going to go far in the post-season. The only team that can beat the Blue Jays are the Blue Jays (i.e. choking, etc).

In the AL. The AL is weak. NL will present a ton of challenges. Other than St. Louis with all their injuries any of the other teams COULD beat the jays. Dodgers aren't as good talent wise but have Kershaw/Grienke. In a series with those 2 you never know. Mets have an awesome young staff and have been on fire offensively since they got Cepedes at the deadline. The Pirates are loaded(though they have to face Arietta in a one game playoff). The Cubs have the best young offense in baseball and have been on fire the past few months. Plus they have the hottest pitcher in the league(Arietta) Since the all star break he has a .082 era!
Something to keep in mind. MLB playoffs are a crap shoot. The last 20 years the best team won only 4 times. You never know in baseball. 5 or 7 game series are a ton of luck. If anyone gets the wrong hot pitcher thrown against them a lesser team can win. Remember when the Padres with Kevin Brown beat a far superior Braves team? The Jays will also be under a ton of pressure because there is a good chance this may be it for this group given the age of this group and coming free agencies. That said if I had to bet I'd pick the Jays.

^ Anyone CAN beat them its the MLB playoffs not the NBA. Blue Jays are scary to play against though, they have the pitching and defense of their 92 winning team and the offence of their 93 winning team. Their pitching, defense and offense are among the best and championship caliber just a matter of if they can hold on and make it through the playoffs.

Jays not in my top 5 favourite baseball teams, but wow they are good! Wow you're weird! Unless your not from Canada eh lol, maybe weird but I hate the Argos, Leafs, Raptors, why should the Jays be any different...except that I don't hate the Jays, just like Pirates, Cubs, Indians, Brewers, Royals more. Then again, I'm not a huge MLB fan, don't give it much thought until Pennant/Wildcard races get serious.

I couldn't withstand that type of punishment and I say that as a fan of a team that hasn't won the world series in 107 years and had the Tribune Company as the owner for the vast majority of my life other than the last few years!

Well the Jays are coasting, resting their starters and such. I guess being the #1 seed going into the playoffs is not a big deal for them?

I agree it's kind of weird... but so long as they're the only Canadian MLB team, the Jays are the only Toronto franchise we're supposed to like. It's still weird that you would like the Pirates, Indians or Brewers though!

Price has been well worth it. he is just a rental, logic says; the better the jays do the better chance of signing him so GO Jays

^^^ Jays have to make the world series to at least to say that. Derrick Norris is only 22 years old, finished with an ERA below 4 and is team control at cheap prices for 6 years.
