When I worked for Sik**sky in Pennsylvania, Pfz*er ordered a 50 million dollar helicopter to fly thier executives around. That was one sweet helicopter.... Yes it's all about the money. Yep all about the money. Doctors are great for broken bones surgical procedures etc. but when it comes to dieses that is controlled by government and pharmaceutical company's and doctors can only give you and advise you to use stuff they are told to use if they go beyond that they loose there jobs. Same reason if a doctor in the USA tells a patient to eat apricot seed for cancer he can be fined, jailed, hospital he or she worked for could loose there funding, all over a little harmless seed that is illegal to sell in the USA and is listed as poison in all there medical journals. I take 5 in the morning and 5 at night every day, and my dad was up to 40 to 50 a day after he was diagnosed with Cancer and told the doctors he was actually feeling better and got his appetite back, but they scared him away from it. LMFAO what a joke but when a white coat speaks people listen but people need to start listening to common sense so company like Pfizer may someday put lives in front of profits, but don't hold your breath!

Watched as much as I could, kind of remembering how they lost me around 1995 or so. They've made some great music, a lot of great music really, but click... Maybe sacrilegious as a Canadian to not watch the whole thing, especially knowing the circumstances, but watching on TV just doesn't feel the same as being there did. And in a way (for me) it kind of has a feeling like the last Jets 1.0 game had...doesn't feel like the celebration it's supposed to be.

Great show but sad knowing it's the end. Good on then for doing this tour though too bad the scalpers ruined the ticket sales.

I watched....
I was never a major hip fan, the music is good but Gord's voice is worse than Dylan's IMO. I was lucky to catch the Winnipeg show and I was left with an overall underwhelming feeling. I appreciated the 'event ' of last night and I understand why so many Canadian felt connected to it, but as artists I never really understood or enjoyed them as much as many did and still do. Downie should've been a poem reader not a singer. His words were never really lyrics in the traditional sense, but more of a cryptic story. I'm a lyric guy and in music its always the 'story' first and music second for me so I'm mad at myself for not liking them as much as I should. I do not rank Downie as one of the all time great writers, in fact for Canadians I would rank Tom Cochrane higher in terms on intelligent writing.
Anyway, there were Some bright spots in the show, like the his praise for the PM which was near and dear to my heart..... and I'm glad i watched.

Not seeing the Hip live when I definitely had chances, is something I'll live to regret.
Some men shine in the face of adversity, and some men crumble. Gord Downie just cemented his legacy of not only one of the best Canadian singers of all time, but one of the greatest Canadians, with that concert.

Last night in Chicago, Eddie Vedder took time out during Pearl Jam's concert to talk about the Kingston show going on at the same time and wanted to send their energy up to Gord Downie and the rest of the Tragically Hip. Much respect for him to do that.
That is what these guys do, they met each other down the road, not going to assume that it was here at Sunfest, but it may just have been that festival. You can find the story at CBC.ca
