A lot of backlash on 1290 this morning RE Hull going into the Jets hall of fame. A lot has been said about how despicable he was as a family man, pretty disturbing stuff can be read on the web...should that keep him out?

I don't know about his personal life and don't care to speculate, but the HoF is based on accomplishments as a hockey player not as a family man. Again I don't know what's true but as far as I know he hasn't committed a crime so I don't know that personal issues should matter.

Backlash as in a former Bomber kicker? Ignore the self-righteous ones. We are all flawed people to one extent or another but there is absolutely no mistake who brought and legitimized Winnipeg as a City deserving of professional hockey both in the WHA and then the NHL. On top of the fact that LINE!

You guys have to remeber that the Big Show is just that. A SHOW! How boring it would be if they always sided with each other . All Westwood was doing was playing devils advocate. Starting a conversation. He does a good job imo and I'm certain he would want him included in the JHHOF

The Hall of Fame in any sport would be a lot smaller if unrelated off-field behaviours and histories were a consideration.

Like him or not for his off ice issues, he put Winnipeg on the professional hockey map.

Hull is in the Hockey Hall of Fame right? But some believe he's not worthy of the Jets Hall of Fame? Am I the only who can't figure this one out?

Hull coming to play for the Jets in '72 instantly made us a major league city. His contributions because of that should not go unnoticed despite his off ice issues.

Man if we had the internet and cell phones 50 years ago so many of our hero's would be zero's today! Hull is good in my books!

I'm actually on the fence about this, but I do find it interesting that a lot of the people that are most vocal about wanting Hull left out of the HOF were the biggest Evandar Kane apologists back in the day. I think this all could've been moot if the Jets would've just inducted Hawerchuck first

I think this all could've been moot if the Jets would've just inducted Hawerchuck first I suspect you'd see a lot more complaining about ignoring the WHA years if they did that. I'm a Ducky fan but Hull has contributed more to hockey in Manitoba than Hawerchuk did. AINEC. m.

It's a shame some people in this city have to taint this great thing that the Jets are creating with the HOF by bringing up past off ice events involving Hull. There is no question there would not have been a Winnipeg Jets back then or even today had Hull not come here in '72. Hull is one of the greatest hockey players of all time. The fact that he wore a Jets jersey for 8 years is something every fan should be proud of.
That's not to say whatever Hull did off the ice was right. It wasn't. But that's not the point of the Jets HOF.
