Resurrecting this thread, very roughly follows the long, slow and interesting progression of Stanley's career to date. As of today, I say Stanley is a legitimate NHL rookie who has earned a spot on the Jets roster and is likely to remain long term. JMO

Valabik? Had to turn to Wikipedia for the answer. A first rounder for atlanta at #10 had height and promise and maybe visions of Chara in the scouting report. Didnt amount to much. This kid Stanley looks to be the real deal. Mature beyond his NHL station like a function of his slow maturation in the A. He could be a Chara, just not as mean, but effective anyway. We won't know if he sits in the press box. And its not like he is the worst of the lot. Far from it, he is a top 4D-man for the Jets now. PM wants to flatten the 64 improvement curve.

I would have to guess Boris Valabik wasn't given the same opportunity (and time) to develop. When Stanley was drafted it was a well known fact he would need time. Patience is paying off. Is he a top 2 guy ? Not now and maybe not ever but 3-4 wouldn't be bad and a big body on the PK.Future ? Henola Samburg Stanley Gawanke Chisholm.Morrisey
