Massive push this week. It's unbelievable. They're flying by the seat of their pants to get some of this stuff done. It's especially insane because there's TWO concerts this week. Kings of Leon probably just finished as I type this, and Rise Against tomorrow night. Roadies everywhere.
They've fenced off part of the open area around Tim's for a jersey press system. Touch screens will be going up this week to order/customize what you want. I'm not sure of the full details, but they brought in some guys from TO who are putting it together. Heard the phrase 'This is what they do at the ACC' or some variation of it at least twice today.
New, recessed concession counters appear to be ready to go on both levels. The ones on 300 will be appreciated for those who've had to slog through the crowds up there.
New bar on the Suites level at the south entrance is pretty much done.
New Jets Gear store coming together on 300 as well (south entrance). Last week I never would have believed it would be ready. They were still installing steel rails overhead.
New wood paneling going over the particleboard around the entrance to the Labatt Lounge. Looks nice. For those of you that go to the Exchange restaurant on event level, Jets themed wallpaper (similar to the background on jets.nhl.com) is up over the old Moose stuff.
Aaaaaand, no changes to the guardrails upstairs. That's a next year kind of thing.

I was at Kings of Leon last night and there is a HUGE new banner/sign just below the new pressbox that says:
"Home of the Winnipeg Jets - Fuelled by Passion"
Looked VERY cool! I have a pic on my phone that I'll put up later.

Just got this email from TNSE:
November 2, 2012 Thank you for your patience over the past few months; the patronage, support and trust Winnipeg Jets fans have provided to our team is widely recognized across the NHL and, as a fan, you should be very proud of this acknowledgment.
In our correspondence dated September 16th, 2012, we advised that a work stoppage had commenced which was expected to delay the opening of training camp and cause games to be cancelled. Since that time, all of the NHL preseason and regular season games in October and November have been cancelled. Despite the unfortunate work stoppage, we thought we would highlight some of the investments we are making in the MTS Centre this season in our ongoing quest to continue to improve your fan experience: * We are in the process of installing a new audio system throughout the building designed to significantly enhance your game experience; * In partnership with MTS, we have made a significant capital investment in building wireless network improvements including cellular and high density WiFi; * We are in a two-year program of upgrading the washroom capacity at the 100 and 300 levels in the MTS Centre; * The new Subway branded concession will open on November 9th of this year at the section 111 main concourse concession location. These investments are just the first stage of a fan experience improvement/capital expenditure multi-year plan for the MTS Centre which will continue through 2015. The entertainment event calendar at the MTS Centre has never been busier with October and November bringing acts like Justin Bieber, NBA Basketball, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others. We have also made some recent event announcements including Sarah Brightman, The Tenors, Bon Jovi and the 2014 Juno Awards.
This letter will also enable you to enjoy 15% off of all regular priced merchandise at Jets Gear, the Authentic Team Store of the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club. Recognizing that you would typically receive your Jets Gear discount card with your season tickets, until then, we would request that you print this email as acknowledgement of your discount. The letter is valid until such time as your season tickets are delivered to you and may be presented at any of our three convenient Jets Gear locations: * MTS Centre - 300 Portage Avenue (Portage Avenue & Hargrave Street) * St. Vital Centre - 1225 St. Mary's Road (London Drugs / Sears entrance) * MTS Iceplex - 3969 Portage Avenue
Anyone have any specific information on what is obviously the most important piece of news here?!

Only expansion will be more luxery or "Skyboxes". Keeping it in the 15000 range keeps demand high.

it may keep demand high but at this point.. i dunno about the future but adding 1-2k seats will not put a slow down on demand, tickets would be again sold with in seconds ..imo

TNSE has said at least 10 times they will never add more seats becasue the cost will be so high it would take too long to get a good return on investment.

I've heard rumblings of them renovating the current Jets Gear Store in the MTS Centre and adding a new store on the second level concourse across from the Timothy Eaton statute closer to the escalators. The new store will have access to the arena seats. I for one would love to see that as in the winter it would make it accessible to those in the skywalk system.

If they do that then perhaps the Jets store at the Hargrave and Graham corner could be repurposed? Washrooms perhaps?

Tweeted a couple pic's today at lunch that some might be interested in. There's a new Subway Express on the 100 level (located across from the existing Tim's).... ...and, an interesting pic; no ice just yet; boards & glass are ready to go in...once the volleyball game concludes. LOL!! Might want to have a "Name that Caption" contest here.... "True North Volleyball League"?!?!?!
