I sat in the UD for the Canada / Finland JR game in '05. It was awful. We were row 4 blue line and the railing and heads cut out all along the boards almost to the face off dots.
I found this vid online, check out the railing here. I couldn't handle that.

Just a quick update - I have spoken with TNSE about our obstructed sight lines and was told that something would be done about the issue. Apparently they had a bunch of staff looking at the problem on Friday and what could be done about it.
As per usual, TN continues to impress with their customer service and willingness to listen.

Is that in reference to the handicap seating issue or the mesh/bars or both issues? Potentially all of the above, because they essentially all contribute to our obstruction issue. I'm hoping that by changing the mesh to plexi it will allow the handicap seating to be pushed back 18 - 24 inches which will still allow for great sightlines from the handicap platform while solving the obstruction problems in rows 3-8. I'm just glad to hear that they are looking into the problem and there could be a solution in our future.

I noticed there is now plexi glass in the upper bowl in the wheel chair section (I think). Looks like its coming along slowly.

I am in 329 right behind the railing above the tunnel. It would be nice if they could move the railing forward 3-4 inches over the tunnel, there is no leg room for any of us there. I guess I should mention it to them. Other than that, love my seats, aisles on both sides, we never have to get up ever to let anyone by

There's Plexiglas in my section now (311). Unfortunately, for whatever reason, they went with the less than ideal solution of simply replacing the mesh part with clear plastic or glass. This fails to address the more critical issue of the huge black bar across the top of the railing.

This fails to address the more critical issue of the huge black bar across the top of the railing. I noticed they had done that in your section last night! I talked to a buddy who sits in front row of section 325 so the mesh/bar are a big problem. He said they were told the plexi-glass is being delivered as we speak, but installation will probably be delayed because of all the December games. They were told by January it should be done though. I agree that it sucks that they aren't doing seemless plexi glass. Where I sit, I have it pretty good (row 6 upper deck) but where the bar is raised for an entrance it JUST cuts off my view of the crease... so I guess the jist of my story is, yeah the bar is the biggest problem not the mesh.

So our usher last night told us that supposedly, they are going to be getting rid of the black bar across the railing sometime this month. So if true, that will be great for everyone.

So, in the never-ending guardrail saga, yesterday more of the mesh to the left of my section had been replaced with plexiglass which made me think that the usher may have been mistaken in her belief that the black railing would be replaced. We asked her again and she said that it was to be the next step. However, an official looking guy in a suit with the clipboard that we presumed was a True North representative told us that basically, for safety reasons, the railing needed to be there and that they were working on improving it, but it might not be until next season. He seemed to think that the railing in front of the wheelchair section, for example, would be raised, which would probably work pretty well for me, but not so well for the people behind.
