Helle advised he's not interested in a rebuild. This is a goalie who after the first win his save percentage never went above .90: .840,.897,.896,.872. When you think your interests are above the teams future then you can take an exit. There is no end of things that have to be resolved in this team. If this is not a reason for a rebuild, I do not know what it.

ONE positive is wheeler has tried alot I will give him that? But these players expect big big Dollars for what setting losing records? Where is your pride ambition to succeed ? What Wheeler will not ackowledge - he is a crap leader. If he was an actual leader ALL of the players would be follwoing the coaches systems and those that did not would be singled out. He is just an arrogant perso and or narcissistic. Did he try hard, sure, but he failed terribly as a leader.

Well, after listening to Chevy's presser....he either doesn't have a clue about the team he built or he was lying through his teeth.
Unfortunately, it's probably the first one, since he trotted out a lot of crap like "it's hard to make the playoffs", "any team that makes the playoffs can win the Cup", "the players want to win", and "I don't want to make excuses, but allow me to make excuses (re: injuries).
Decent questions by the reporters about the lack of success the Jets have had with him at the realm and whether Winnipeg fans should just be happy with being stuck in the middle of the NHL all the time, but it seems that Chevy believes we've had all kinds of success here and that those teams that barely sneak into the playoffs win Cups all the time (mainly because Chicago did it once while he was there).
I know he's not going to come out and say we're definitely trading so & so or we have to make big changes, but just like the players did in their interviews, there is absolutely no acceptance/acknowledgement of any thing wrong in the organization from the GM.
To be honest, it feels like the ownership group thinks Jets fans should just be happy that we have a team & support them unconditionally. I think they are in for a surprise if they think that fans will be happy with anything other than major player changes this off-season.

Cheveldayoff is off his meds again:
'I'm proud of the group': Cheveldayoff happy with team despite quick out in playoffs Jets' general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff speaking with media on April 30, 2023 for the first time since the team's playoff loss. (Source: CTV News)Jets' general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff speaking with media on April 30, 2023 for the first time since the team's playoff loss. (Source: CTV News)
Despite falling in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in five games and just squeezing into the last wild card spot in the west, Winnipeg Jets' general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff said he was proud of what his team accomplished.
The GM spoke with media Sunday afternoon for the first time since falling to the Vegas Golden Knights. While he said the final result wasn't what they wanted, he was proud of the group for making the playoffs.
"I'm proud of that group that they, you know, battled through that gauntlet and got to the point of, you know, making the playoffs," said Cheveldayoff.
"I guess a question that we asked all the guys that were here in prior years, what was the difference? And, you know, to a man, I think they, you know, they appreciated what the coaching staff brought to the table, but more so, you know, they appreciated that opportunity to try and compete and prove that they were a playoff team."

Bones will be returning next season. Doubt it. I would bet that neither Chevy nor the prima donna players want him back. Honesty does not go unpunished.

Bones will be returning next season. Doubt it. I would bet that neither Chevy nor the prima donna players want him back. Honesty does not go unpunished. According to Chevy today, Bones will be the Head Coach of the Jets next season. I feel sorry for Bones, if I were him, I’d resign, he is a sitting duck next season with this Country Club Jets team, Jets players are running this team, Management and Coaches are not running this team, the players are running this team. Claude Noel fired, Maurice replaced him, Maurice resigned, Lowry replaced Maurice, players never listened to Lowry, Lowry then gone, Bones replaced Lowry, Bones at end of our short playoff is honest about his team, players slam Bones end of season interviews, Bones is a sitting duck, Bones get out while you can, as long as this Jets Players Country Club team is running the show, it won’t matter what Coaching Staff is here, now please don’t forget the ineptitude of a GM/Chevy that has no clue and lives in denial, delusion in the dark in his own little world of denial. Get out Bones while you can! Hurry Bones, Hurry Bones! I feel so sorry for Bones. The biggest problem here is Mark Chipman, he has no clue.

Hopefully he'll have some say on who stays and goes. If they can move out the problems hopefully they can retool quicker. They do have some talent but it's misguided. I just don't think Chevy will do it.

The Freep today is very critical of Cheveldayoff and the "business as usual" approach of his appearance at the presser yesterday. Chevy basically said that everything is fine and on track and the articles basically did an eye roll. Nobody is buying what Chevy is trying to sell, and is apparently the organization is the laughing-stock of the league. Sounds about right. If Bowness is dumb enough to return as head coach under those conditions- the there will be no big retooling, then Bowness deserves what he will get. If the fans continue to reward the organization with money and attendance, then the fans will get what they deserve as well.

Let's put it this way except for the walking back of some of his comments the man, Bowness, is the only ray of honesty that we've seen in this franchise if only for a brief time. Maybe at this stage of his career honesty and integrity trumps covering up for the status quo.

Well I would imagine after a quick rethink of say, 3 days and a discussion with Mrs. Bones, Rick says Hasta La Vista Jets. If not, he should. The boys, and they are boys after their recent display of petulance, won't even look or listen to him. He will be ostracized, tuned out and ignored. Soooo lucky for the Jets another well traveled coach will be available! Everyone loves Darryl Sutter, right? He will perk up the team and have them performing at the level they are capable of. And Torts will be his Ass't Coach. Good times.
