Which teams would genuinely be interested in acquiring Scheif, Dubois, Wheeler, etc. And what assets could they offer in return?
Philly? They may be in rebuild mode too. Columbus? San Jose? Calgary? Montreal? Could they take Scheif and Dubois? Buffalo? Arizona? Kalamazoo Wings?

There are limited options with Wheeler - he retires or the Jets buy him out ($2.75M cap hit for 2 years).
As for the other two....too much unknown since they could go to teams trying to win a Cup next year (and not overly worried about their ability to re-sign the players after that) or teams with plenty of cap space looking to lock them up long-term.
Dubois is apparently heading to Montreal at the earliest opportunity, but that doesn't mean Winnipeg needs to send him there. The Rangers paid a boatload for 25% of a regular season + playoffs for Andrew Copp, so I'm sure some teams would consider offering a decent cache for a top 6 center. If they do send PLD to the Habs, I expect Florida's pick to be part of the return, which would give the Jets two picks in the 17 to 19 range of the 1st round.
Unfortunately, Scheifele and Dubois probably reduced their trade value with their uninspired play in the playoffs.

Going to be hard to get good value for them.

Chipman is backed into a corner now especially will the RB comments.
A bad combination of pissed off fans, decreasing attendance and a disastrous locker room.
Let’s see if he stays hidden in the back office or comes out and takes responsibility and makes changes.

Everybody see Wheelers comments? Screw you Wheeler. You've been part of the problem. RB was honest and you wanted to engage in secrecy behind closed doors. Enough of that garbage. He opened the door and you were part of the problem with your inflated contract.

Unfortunately it isn't just Wheeler....everyone from Lowry, Ehlers, Connor, etc that has talked so far are saying Bowness post-game comments "came out of no where." Guess they haven't been listening to the likes of Hayes, Stastny, Eakin, Maurice, et al in the past few years.

As posted in another thread, if Chipman is meddling in player decisions, there are BIG problems in River City.

Can't blame these players for saying this- there is a Dutch adage-"Don't poop where you might have to sleep".

This is Wheeler's payback for stripping the captaincy away from him. You see Chipman what you allowed to fester under your bloody GM. Years of rot. Fire him and his marble mouth now or face a significant backlash from the fans. And stop running your disgusting commercial playing into all the caricatures of Winnipeg

So Helle likes the playoffs and has no interest in a rebuild. Well see ya Helle unless of course this GM continues in his current position. Then he can enjoy missing the playoffs like he did last year.

Guess Jets ownership doesn't actually care about selling more tickets next year as Friedman is reporting that Chevy will absolutely be back next season. Got to wonder about an ownership so out of touch with their fan base.
At this point, there is no chance of me giving any money to the Jets next season.....can't see Chevy blowing up this team like it should, so will just be another miserable year in the mucky middle (don't challenge for a Cup but also don't get one of the early draft picks).

If management won't make changes then we, the fans, have to make our voices heard. On every talk show, every article where comments are allowed and most importantly if he has the balls for a town forum. Last but not least empty seats will speak volumes.

Helle advised he's not interested in a rebuild. This is a goalie who after the first win his save percentage never went above .90:
.840,.897,.896,.872.
When you think your interests are above the teams future then you can take an exit.
