Hey Mark Scheiffle, still think you know more about how to play the game than your coaches? Just a little "in your face" care of Paul Maurice.

And I hope that Cheveldayoff is squirming more than a little these days. Maurice is is a nice guy and a darned good coach who had the integrity to get out before his reputation was completely sullied. The down side is that Scheifele's market value is dropping with each win of the Panthers. This hurts his trade value to the team but should also hit Scheifele right int he pocketbook as well.

The Panther's were already a top tier team and Maurice had to be sweating bullets because they were clearly underperforming. Their interim coach last year Andrew Brunette (after Quenneville resigned with a 7-0 record) brought the team to the first to clinch a playoff birth last year, breaking their win record and getting the Presidents Trophy, advancing past the first round the first time in decades. They were swept 4 straight in the next round by TBL. That was a huge disappointment but one would have thought it should have resulted in a contract for the interim. Nay. Maurice takes over and they dragged at the bottom of the playoff and wildcard position. I think they have the lowest entry points.
But an underachieving season has been blown apart by their playoff performance. I can't see Vegas taking them. They are relentless. A team on a mission and destiny.
Yeah I'm certainly cheering for them.

Yeah I'm certainly cheering for them. I’m also cheering for Maurice and Florida, it would be so ironic if Maurice and Florida win the Stanley Cup after Maurice resigned his position as Head Coach of the Winnipeg Jets. Maurice made the correct decision to walk away from the Jets.

One of the Panther players was interviewed after the third win over Carolina and said that the team already knew how to score most nights, but they did not know how to play team defence. So, it took them a good part of the season to play Maurice's system and trust it enough to give up their old habits. As soon as they did, their GAA went down, and Bobrovsky's stats went up along with their confidence and wins. Scheifele is no rookie and who he is and how he is prepared to play is likely pretty much set. It baffles me how Cheveldayoff could not see what was so obvious.

You know how at past NHL Drafts, rival General Managers, (including our own), will take the podium and congratulate the team that won the Stanley Cup before making their pick? Well it's going to be a sight if it turns out Chevy ends up doing that for the Florida Panthers and Paul Maurice.

That would be so crazy “AWESOME” to see Chevy congratulate Maurice after Maurice told the Jets that he was done being a baby sitter disguised as a Head Coach😁👍! I’m sure that Maurice would be loving it as a face wash to Chevy😃👊👍😂🤣!

Back in the day we had a goalie named Chevy......
And he sucked too!
I think TNSE is only here for play time NHL owning and their real objective is buying up DT Winnipeg and becoming a local property conglomerate that runs everything....
Prove me wrong people, prove me wrong.....

Scheifele's market value peaked in 2020-21. Most teams know that he is a head case.

Western finals. Jets fairly easily take the first game against LVK. Jets allowed to play their offence were difficult to play against. Nashville found that out. Gallant's adaption was to employ the trap the next four games: i.e. a strong defensive structure. Maurice never adapted. 4 straight ensued. And yet he knew to employ a stronger defensive structure against the Oilers:4 straight. That was not employed against Montreal unfortunately. So it appears Maurice has adapted and has the willing ears of his players to employ a sound defensive structure given the circumstances.

Maurice may have very well instructed the Jets players to chnage thier play in that Vegas series but they simply did not do so. Pretty much how this group operates.

I am pretty sure that Maurice and his coaching staff were aware of the trap system and tried to counter it, but there is no point in talking if you will not be heard. And there is the problem in a nutshell.
