Gotta remember alot of this team were ill and firing out of both ends until recently. Its bound to be effecting their play plus the missing practice time with new players. Very good points š.

Gotta remember alot of this team were ill and firing out of both ends until recently. Its bound to be effecting their play plus the missing practice time with new players. Boring as heck but it is time to build some chemistry and iron out the bugs, but realistically that will happening for a while into the season.
RE Heinola, seriously bad luck for him.Ā I would suppose if the injury is as bad as it looks he could be on the long term IR.Ā I suppose that might mean someone that may otherwise have been waived will not be?Ā Thinking Chisholm or Stanley.Ā This could be really bad luck for Stanley too because I'm thinking he probably would have been the one waived and gotten a chance to play elsewhere...a la Kovacevic and Harkins.
Donāt forget about Schmidt, Jets would most likely if they were to have V. H. make the team have to do something with: Stanley, Chisholm, Capibianco and including Schmidt. What would the Jets do? Donāt forget that they need a 7th D-man. Donāt forget that Chisholm is not waiver exempt. Cheers, 2b9ššš

The Jets won't be sending Schmidt down to the minors, so you can scratch that option out.
With Heinola & Capobianco currently injured, the Jets might not even need to make a decision about a defenseman if they go with 13F/8 D/2G.

Heinola was a slight man when drafted and despite putting some muscle on during the off season that's not his game i.e. physicality. I don't see him being a success in this league in a position which demands either being physical or engaging in same. Bad pick. Slightly built European with some skill in a tough physical position.

So is RB going to overwork Helle again and maybe get injured so he's not viable trade bait at trade deadline? I don't like the way this is looking.

Well, still pre-season, but not much for me to get enthused about. Ottawa has a fast team with skill and aggression. Most of our skaters couldn't keep up.
I think the lack of talent in the bottom six will be a problem again. We might be seeing a few Moose guys up before this season is over. My prediction for the season. Middle of the pack. Bubble team. Same old same old.

The nhl should be ashamed of it's self as a whole not making any changes to the ice size or the net size becoming a very boring game? reminds me of playing high school floor hockey with 8 players per side with no room to move make interesting plays with the danger element of running into someone and causing injury as evidence on todays game? NHL is joke to watch nowadays. Forwards need to be able to score and defense men should be able to do their thing? Phone booth hockey! 3 on 3 is much more exciting because of the room available! 5 on 5 boring as it gets?

I'm more concerned that Chevy's going to convince him to re-up and overpay him. Tie up $8 mil in cap space for 5 years or thereabouts. He's not getting the huge bucks he wants anywhere else. We've got some new blood, but it's not enough to put this team over the top. He's an asset. Turn him into players that can help this team win a few years down the road. Build a team that doesn't rely on a goalie to bail them out. We've got some quality goaltenders in the system. The "win now" idea is nice. Not realistic. Same goes for 55. Get your best return and build something.

As announced by Ric Bowness/Jets head coach/post game comments, V. H. injury is long term, not short term.

Same old same old. Disagree with you on the bottom 6, this is probably the best bottom 6 that we have had in numerous seasons/years. Itās difficult to say where the Jets end up by the time the season ends, the season hasnāt even started yet, letās see how the season starts and endās before you make a prediction/maybe yourself can make a true prediction based on 65%-70% through the seasonš. And maybe after that point, your prediction would be fruitless based on circumstances, you just never know what is going to happen. Your prediction at this point is fruitless and makes no sense, let the season start, let it proceed as the games go on, letās see where the Jets are at 60-65 games. Makes sense to me. How about yourself? Have a wonderful eveningš! Cheers, 2b9šš

Please let us all know, if you are correct on the future, I will buy a lottery ticket based on your foresight. Not trying to rub you the wrong way, not trying to p you off, just being honest on my part from what I see at this point, we have many points to go as the season goes on and including ending. Have a wonderful eveningšš! Cheers, 2b9šš
