Fracture ankle for Heinola...out 8 to 12 weeks. Tough break for the Finn (no pun intended) Yeah, just heard that on the radio, however, on the radio, they stated that it was actually a broken ankle. Broken means a fractured bone or bones.

Does anyone know what Blake Wheelers stats are so far during Pre-Season with the Rangers?
Goals?
Assists?
Plus/Minus?
Ice time?

I watched the game this morning and was not all that impressed with the home team. Only four players stood out to any degree: Vilardi, Morrissey, Kupari. and Samberg. The Jets played the game at half-speed and if you took the names and numbers off the Jet jerseys, it would have been difficult to tell who the "star" players were. They looked for all the world like another edition of a mediocre team who will be on the bubble. Bowness is going to have a long season, and so will the fans.

I guess the discussion on Heinola is answered for now. Bones said its not a short term injury. Poor kid just had his best camp and preseason and now this. Lots of social media talk about his inury and how upset people are for him...me included

I only watched the 1st period...saw nothing outta 55 to make me think anything will be different. Liked the play of Perfetti and his desire to back check.

Lots of social media talk about his inury and how upset people are for him...me included Bones states 8-12 weeks for full recovery, Bones also states that there is a possibility of surgery/I guess if required, Bones also states that the Team will send him home to Finland for recovery which would allow him to be amongst family and friends during recovery. Hopefully, it’s only 8 weeks as opposed to 12 weeks. Even if it’s 8-10 weeks, that’s better than 12 weeks.

However, it still could be at best case scenario, the beginning of week 2 of December 2023👍. Gotta hope for the best👍.

I wonder how much Heinola's quickness will be affected. That is such a big part of his game, that even a small deterioration would be very bad.

Get what you are saying, thought as much myself, however, don’t forget how young he is, he should recover all speed and mobility due to being so young. However, as you and I both know, only time will tell. I’m thinking based on his age and fitness, he will be ok👍.

If they stick with that in your face style, they may be building something. There's a lot of energy and skill in that lineup. And youthful enthusiasm.

I agree with you, they look like they are going to be a good team coming up. Nice thing for Ottawa, their young core players are all signed up long term.

Take preseason with a front end loader bucket of salt. Vets play to look ok and avoid injury. Line-ups are littered with AHL calibre guys (or worse) and various prospects hoping to impress, but many of whom simply confuse better players by not being where they should be at any given time. There are few set lines and coaches and Management are simply hoping to see someone stand out and thus be able to revise their plans. When the season starts, we can pay close attention and make our predictions while standing on something other than quicksand. Looking forward to Perfetti taking the next step.
