The reality is that the Jets have teased and disappointed their fans for years and management shows little interest in being anything but a mediocre team for the foreseeable future. Being a competitive team has consequences and being a fringe team has consequences as well. Every time the team comes out and goes through the motions without an expectation of winning or even competing, they lose several more hundred fans who feel that they have been cheated. Absolutely, track. The fan support for a bad team has been admirable. Recall a couple of years back when the talk was about Jet mgmt. being complacent, because we were just so happy to have the team back, we'd put up with anything. There was a lot of talk to the effect of, well, the only way to get their attention is to stop buying tickets. I'd say we've got their attention. But, it's kind of a danger zone. Where do we go if the team crashes and burns again? Or even just stay middle of the pack? It's becoming easier to understand why they needed to avoid anything resembling a rebuild. That may have been a coffin nail. Too much doom and gloom. They'll bounce back. The next 20 games will tell us everything we need to know. Cheveldayoff is whistling past the graveyard and the "rebuild" word was taboo because Scheifele and Hellebuyck seem to have made it clear they did not want to be around for that sort of thing, so they used other words. Logic would indicate that should the Jets have yet another mediocre season, the GM would be fired and probably the head coach as well. The recent past seems to throw cold water on that possibility.

Interesting article in the Sports Business Journal. I'll post it if I can. They say the season ticket base is down around 9500. Walk ups are more casual hockey fans. Inconsistent to say the least. You can't count on corporate support. They make business decisions with zero passion. The possibilty of the team relocating is not imminent. But we are seeing some historical similarities. Not even in their final season, when fans knew they were gone, did the Jets 1.0 have 4000 empty seats in the decrepid old barn. I guess what it comes down to is this. And obviously, ownership asked the same question in last year's sales pitch. Is Winnipeg an NHL city? That it. People who say it will never happen again have a short memory. I don’t yell TRUE NORTH at games. The company took what was a sure thing in this city and burned it to the ground. They could go this time and I wouldn’t even flinch.

With what you have said is to be true, if this is another mediocre season, Chevy and Bones will be fired, if that is the case, they the Jets move onto a new management staff and coaching staff, getting some new blood in: new management, new coaching staff.

I personally believe that if this upcoming season is another mediocre season for the Jets, Chevy and including Bones will be gone, Chipman and Thompson will have no choice but to move on from both.
Just my thoughts including opinion.
Have a great Friday night all👍.
Cheers,
2b9😉👍

Ouch, tonight's Moose game had a little over 2000 fans at the Canada Life Centre, about half of what they normally have.
The team is not winning much yet, going 1-2 in the opening three. On a positive note for the franchise, Brad Lambert has 3 goals and 2 assists and Nikita Chibrikov has a goal and 2 assists.

The Jets need to make some a ss kicking moves in the front office and on the ice......
Too much Breezy Bend, Cardigan Sweater polished look around here.....
Reminds me of the time Chipman got up in front of the mic and chastised Bowman or whomever about releasing TNSE info on some moves they were looking at in downtown Winnipeg, almost scolding them for talking about some public interest ahead of TNSE.
Bring in a guy along of Torts if ever available, hire Don Cherry as a consultant for shock factor.....
Too much Mr. Nice Guy here..... break the mold!
I aint hung up on a softy like Ehlers or a safe guy like Appleton for the 40th time around....
Get a Ryan Reeves and start beating people up, get us on ESPN with some sort of noise...
Remember when Dave Wheeler wanted to have the "Helmet Pardy Night" at the rink and TNSE threw cold water on it and actually apologized to Chicago for OUR behaviour for crap that started with their fan/fans in their rink....
We paid the price to be in this league, we dole out the money to be in the game....
If Winnipeg is so miserable, time to make it unbearable to fly in and play a game here....
TNSE thought this after 2018
Oh, we lost Tanev, but we still have Buff
Oh, we lost Chariot, but we still have Buff
OH SNAP, we lost Myers, but we still have Buff
And then, we lost Buff
And its never been the same.....
And it shows!
