Connor Hellebuyck gets NHL 3rd Star of the month for December. According to the NHL, only McKinnon and Matthews had a better month.
Surely Helle's team deserves to share the accolades but he had a phenomenal 7-0-2 record with .934 save percentage. That's just a great month of goaltending!
Tonight, Tampa Bay Lightning are here. Their .539 point percentage and -6 goal differential is very un-Lightning-like. What I heard on WST today is that Lightning are going with 5 D and 11 or 12 forwards, due to major cap issues. Still, I suppose that means we get to see more of Kucherov, Stamkos, Pointe, Hedman, Vasilevsky...obviously they remain some of the league's best players.
No mercy!
Hate to even mention the Jets PP, the only real blight on the Jets season so far. I thought the #1 PP unit showed some signs of coming back to life but they have not scored in ages...only the #2 unit kicks in a rare but occasional PP goal.
From Illegal Curve:
Jets projected lines & D pairs:
Ehlers - Scheifele - Vilardi Perfetti - Namestnikov - Iafallo Niederreiter - Lowry - Appleton Barron - Toninato - Jonsson-Fjallby Morrissey - DeMelo Dillon - Pionk Samberg - Schmidt
Hellebuyck Brossoit

GO JETS GO👍! Okay, I am only going to bring this up 1 more time, being tonight. I was reading on Illegal Curve today/one of Illegal Curve’s articles from today, the current Jets ongoing 25 consecutive games allowing 3 goals or less streak is an NHL record, they on Illegal Curve however do not mention whom in the NHL held the previous record. Cheers, 2b9👍

It's crazy to think that with a decent PP the Jets could easily be 1st overall in the NHL. Go Jets Go !

Cheers, 2b9👍 Still don't think that's correct....it's a franchise record, not an NHL record. In fact, I just searched one of the better teams from the NHL's past (28-29 Montreal Canadiens) and noticed that they ended their season with 25 straight games with 3 goals or less per game ( includes blanking the opponents 14 times). So the first and only team I checked in the NHL's early history at least matched Winnipeg's current run. www.hockey-reference.com/teams/MTL/1929_games.html

I would suggest, contacting Illegal Curve/all of their writers inquiring where they are getting this information from being that it is an NHL record. Not just a franchise record as you state. Cheers, 2b9👍

Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Have noticed numerous mistakes by IllegalCurve over the years, so they aren't immune from making errors.
The proof is right in the link I provided, so I don't need to look for further answers. It might be a modern day NHL record like Hillman suggested, but the NHL doesn't mention it on their page.

Also, as good as Winnipeg has been defensively this season...even if they kept up the exact pace for the full 82 games, the Jets would have allowed 30 more goals against than last year's Boston Bruins.
Man, that team really dominated.

It’s a challenge to you BOJA, as someone whom knows you very well, I know that you’d be up to the challenge👍. Cheers, 2b9👍
