Everyone ready for a little afternoon hockey?
Jets coming off a full 3 day layoff following Tuesday's win over the Islanders.
There were hopes that Scheifele would be back today but he will not be. If it's a groin strain as suspected, best to let him heal that up as they can recur very easily.
I'm not sure what it is about the Senators, but they worry me. They have some high end talent, youth, speed, some quality veterans, and I suppose a lot of filler. It seems like a roster than can give a team fits if they're taken lightly.
From Illegal Curve:
Jets projected lines & D pairs:
Connor - Lowry - Vilardi Perfetti - Namestnikov - Ehlers Niederreiter - Toninato - Appleton Barron - Kupari - Iafallo
Morrissey - DeMelo Dillon - Pionk Samberg - Schmidt
Hellebuyck Brossoit

I'm beginning to think the PP troubles have got inside the Jet's heads. Unless they win the original faceoff they just can't get it set up. I think it's some kind of mental block.

The team has to hit the net more often...even strength and on the PP. Winnipeg had no shots on net going into a PP that started over 5 minutes into the game.

You are probably right about the mental part but scoring from the perimeter is largely non-productive. And the Jets are being outshot badly.

Jet PK better be a helluva lot better than their PP.

I still think it was a mistake to take Lowry off the Nino line...they miss each other. Why not keep as much continuity as you can in the lineup, especially when it was a productive line?

Jet PK better be a helluva lot better than their PP. Luckily, it was. No shots for Sens.
