I really hope there is not alot of booing. At least not how it was in Vancouver, that was nuts.
I will clap.

No. it's disrespectful to boo him now. With out his approval we wouldn't have the Jets. Plus, he half apologized for relocating the Jets. It's Water under the bridge.

he means wheeler from power 97 not blake wheeler the player I agree save all booing for Wheeler and give Little Gary a standing O. He'll be smitten with Winnipeg forever, as his large ego will be fed a good dose of Friendly Manitoba. We do want to host all-star games, Heritage Classics and drafts. ;D

No. Best thing that happened for this city was the jets leaving, time and money were not right back in 96 and i think had the team been given a stay it would have left eventually. Ask yourself is this a better ownership situation now or the scramble backin 96? He attempts to save the jets back then look amateur to what we have now.
Thank god for the 15 years chipman had to cut his teeth and become a great hockey owner. We are lucky to have this ownership group at this time. Bettman knows this is the greatest hockey market outside of toronto and montreal and only due to population difference. It was a matter of time, 96 was not the time, 2011 is.
Screw the past , lets look ahead. Maybe just chant chipman when bettman steps on the ice instead.

When you win, do you Boo? No, you don't.
Winnipeg won: The Jets are back!
Knowing that Bettman's hand was forced beyond his control BY Winnipeg should be enough.
Win in style.
(Out of respect to Chipman, fans should applaud or remain silent, at the very least.)

No matter how hard chipman worked... we would have no team if GB didn't want us to have one. I would cheer.

I will applaud. As most have come to realize, we didn't have an ownership group or any concrete plans for an arena back then, no matter what the team had to move.
Plus as has been said, we have perhaps one of the best ownership groups in the league now.
