I emailed them too and got pretty much the same response except they said they are looking at a few potential solutions to the problem. I recommend seamless glass as the best option and so on, he said they might not have it done bedfellow the season bit there looking into it.

BUMP (now that everyone has seen first hand how much of an issue this is) ... email TN and have your voices heard!
I would also suggest a policy disallowing the front row on the upperdeck to lean forward over the rail and blocking half the ice for all rows above them

Well I went to the first ex game last night (6-1 winover Columbus). the crowd was great, the players were great....and I had a great time.....
First I'll say..I'm in Sec 302, row 11....My sight lines are great, no obtruscted view. The only very minor issue with my sightline is...I cannot see the complete corner in the north-east corner of the rink.. That said....I have no complaints with my seats...
But...
If you are in the upper deck....you cannot hear the PA announcer. and NO it's not because teh crowd was loud. Even when the crowd wasn't cheering....you could NOT make out what he was saying...they need to install speakers somewhere in the upper deck so that we can here the announcements and hear the music they're playing... There were many complaining of the same thing during the intermissions. We can't hear anything!, turn up the volume!!!!
and last issue...for me.. ( a guy)
the bathroom issue in the upper deck is awful !!!!!!!!!! After the 1st period and went to the bathroom in the North East corner...there were 2 huge lineups getting in...in some instances 4 people wide on both lineups...when I finally got back to my seat.....the clock read 12:42. I missed almost the entire 2nd period because of my bathroom break. And remember...I went in line immediatly after the 1st period ended!
Not acceptable, This has got to be remedied!!! We are now paying top dollar for these NHL games, and missing almost half a period because I had to pee is infuriating. I don't mind paying $85.75 for a beer...but if I need to go to the can...I shouldn't have to miss half a period of NHL hockey at 60-80 dollars a tkt.
Does anyone know if the MTS Centre has any plans on fixing the bathroom issues...??
and yes....one bank machine is pathetic as well

I would also suggest a policy disallowing the front row on the upperdeck to lean forward over the rail and blocking half the ice for all rows above them At the Moose games there was an MTSC worker at the exit of every section, when someone leaned over the rail they were very quick to tell people to sit back in their seats.

No sound in the upper deck!!! They said the speakers were down...but for $80 we should be able to hear announcements and the music...they did say they were working on it during the game!

the bathroom issue in the upper deck is awful !!!!!!!!!! I knew this was going to be an issue and quite frankly, I don't see them being able to do much now this season. I know it's going to bug the hell out of me though.

I hope they do something about the people leaning over the railing....my god....a couple of them looked like monkeys they spent so much time leaning over them.
To be honest....whether you are in the upper deck or in the 100's...sit back in your seat. Leaning forward impacts people beside you and behind you!

To be honest....whether you are in the upper deck or in the 100's...sit back in your seat. Leaning forward impacts people beside you and behind you! By all means, let True North know your thoughts! In my past experience, I have found them to be VERY responsive to the needs of their customer. The "mesh" guard rail issue IS ON THEIR RADAR. They KNOW it's an issue; however, the more emails they receive sharing how people are IMPACTED, the higher the priority becomes. Front row hanging over the rails stealing half your view? Email True North! ljones@truenorth.mb.ca (Linzy Jones - Manger Ticketing) jludlow@truenorth.mb.ca (Jim Ludlow - GM True North) rthorsten@truenorth.mb.ca (Robert Thorsten - VP of Facilities) Not Enough Bathrooms in the Upper Bowl? Email True North! ljones@truenorth.mb.ca jludlow@truenorth.mb.ca rthorsten@truenorth.mb.ca Guard rails obstructing your view? Email True North! ljones@truenorth.mb.ca jludlow@truenorth.mb.ca rthorsten@truenorth.mb.ca REMEMBER - The upperdeck has VERY seldom been used for hockey. True North has had 6 years to refine their lower bowl policies and they have many many changes in that time. It's up to us fans to let them know how to improve the experience!

As are the line us for the beer itself. I am considering going to the games in drag just so I can take a whizz without missing half the game. So if you see a real ugly woman with bulging where women shouldn't have bulging heading to the ladies can next game come say hi.

I don't know which bathrooms you guys were using but I was in 307 and had to go to the bathrooms near sec 312(i think) i waited for 3-4 mins tops...not bad considering it was intermission.
I think they need more washrooms tho...not sure where they would put them.

Don't mean to sound neagtive but........After my experiences at the Excel Energy Centre in St Paul MN, the MTS Centre is NOT a state of the art NHL calibre arena. They have a ton of bugs they need to work on in the place. Overcrowded upper concourse, limited beer and concesions leading to long lines. Not enough restrooms. These stupid railings and people leaning forward in their seats. Oh well I guess thats what you get when you can't afford $120 for a prime season ticket. But, at the same time, you just couldn't beat the atmosphere there last night. TNSE lets get these issues resolved ASAP!!

I'm late to the party on this thread, I can only speak for the Sabres Arena (First Niagara Center, formerly HSBC Arena) and they have plexiglass as railings for all the overhangs. Its slightly taller in front of the stairs, but they are really not noticeable.
Those pics in this thread with the railings and mesh.....ugh, I couldn't imagine sitting there. Who thought that was a good idea ? Our Arena was built in 1996 and they had plexiglass for railings from the beginning, so it's not like it's something only the newest arenas have.
