After watching this you might understand why I say let's take a chance on him if the price is right and he commits!

I think its a good pick up if they sign him to a reasonable deal but it still doesn't help our real need which is up the middle.

Drury would be a good fit for the right money on a one year deal

Drury would be a good fit for the right money on a one year deal Interesting. Drury has really declined though and is kind of old isn't he -- short term type solution at best.

Drury is Older but he is good on the draw a great PK guy and adds to the leadership of the team. On a 1 year deal they really have nothing to loose. This would be similar to what the flames did with Morrison

Zherdev is going to want a multi-year deal most likely 2 year 4-4.2 million.
He is a risk this team is all about character I don't see them signing him.
His track record speaks for its self.

Your taking way more risk with a multi year contract for Zherdev.
Yes he has skill but his work ethic is poor and he is not a good team mate.
At least with Drury you know what your getting and he fills a position of need.
The less Russians the better in my opinion

1-2 year deal at most for Zherdev. I don't see him getting a long term deal with any NHL team at this point...

That's a really impressive montage of Zherdev; he definitely has the physical tools. I could get behind the Jets taking a chance on him with a short term contract. Maybe he's like Kovalev...tons of talent, kind of flaky but can excel under the right conditions.

I like the idea of Zherdev's talent but where I am concerned is where do you put him in the line up. He will need to fit top 6, so does that mean he would be on the second like RW and then bump Fehr to 3rd line?

I've been hyping Zherdev for a month now. I thought he gave the Flyers a much needed spark once they put him in the lineup in the playoffs. He's also scored over 20 goals in 3 of 5 seasons. Plus he still scored 16 goals averaging only 12 mins of ice time a game.

Every team needs a bad guy, a black sheep. Let's have Zherdev as the new Jets baddie :-)

Zherdev would be a good pickup on a bonus heavy contract.
