7 years @ $6.725 would do it. Then bye bye Trouba.

Four 1st rounders for Trouba? I'd take that in a heart beat.

I moved the non-Trouba talk to a new thread off the main Jets forum.

As of yesterday TSN as well: "Big Time Spending? The Boston Bruins are reportedly considering going after one of the top young defenceman in the game. According to Joe Haggerty of CSNNE.com, the B's are preparing an offer sheet for Winnipeg Jets D-man Jacob Trouba. The restricted free-agent scored six goals and added 15 assists over 81 games with the Jets in 2015-16, just his third year in the NHL. Haggerty reports the Bruins would likely submit an offer that the Jets would not consider matching, somewhere in the range of $47 million over seven years. If they end up signing the 22-year-old to an offer sheet, Boston would have to give up four consecutive first-round picks. Trouba, selected ninth overall by Winnipeg in 2012, is coming off a three-year entry level contact and is a RFA. The Jets already have defencemen Dustin Byfuglien and Tyler Myers locked up through 2020-21 and 2018-19 respectively. " www.tsn.ca/news-and-rumours-plenty-of-interest-in-ladd-1.517539

Considering Laine hasn't played an NHL game, 4 firsts has the potential impact to dwarf the potential Laine brings. This franchise is already looking great, this will put us over the top. Just can't see it happening. Posted w/ Grumpz D-vice There was a good quote somewhere on HF: Just what the Western Conference needs. Another four first round draft picks in the hands of the Winnipeg Jets. Our drafting seems to be earning us some respect. m. I love this, best quote ever.

maybe we will get 4 firsts and trade something like kyle connor and enstrom for hamonic First Toby has a no movement deal. Second we still would be down a D-man. Not sure we have much depth on D to lose a guy right now. Buf Hamonic Myers Stuart Postma Chairot Morrissey Not much on the farm and we usually go through 10 D a year. You get a couple of injuries and forget about the playoffs.

Latest news from TSN radio is that apparently Boston is getting blowback from other managers seeing this as predatorial and may be backing off. Dang!

Or, they came to their senses and are using that as their out. If anyone is predatory, it's Chevy. He's a Venus fly trap! Dangle Kane and Bogo and fwap! Posted w/ Grumpz D-vice

Apparently the Boston GM is feeling the heat and Chara's future is very uncertain, so thus the hots for Trouba. Plus their cupboard is well stocked with prospects, so it may well be that Chevy will strike a deal before the deadline.

You're talking about a trade instead of waiting for an offer sheet from the Bruins? I guess it's really up to Trouba's side whether to entertain an offer sheet and wait for a matching offer from Chevy.
