I can't say I agree with you. Scalping is not the worst thing in the world, and almost helps most of the time, since it makes a road trip possible. But there is something not right about 1 more kid (or adult) crying at home that they missed out on tickets, because some scumbag is trying to make a buck. It's sad that families in Winnipeg can't afford housing because greedy homeowners are selling their houses for more than they paid for them, according to market demand... I wish there were more families out there who would just sell me their house for the price they paid. That would be fair! Totally agree. That's the way things are living in a free enterprise society.

Stub hub isn't selling the tickets. It's simply a market place to list your tickets. Stub hub isn't breaking any laws. The seller of the tickets are. Just like kijiji wasn't breaking any laws. Sure they are. They are making money off tickets that are sold on their site that over face value. They get a fee off a ticket that was illegal sold. Kijiji does not get a fee. LOL! They charge a fee for selling your tickets. They are not selling the tickets. They are not breaking the law. They're making money from illegally sold tickets so they're breaking the law?? What kind of argument is that. I'm paying shaw cable to give me internet access. I use that internet access to list a ticket on stub hub. Shaw is breaking the law. They're making money off me selling scalped tickets. MB Hydro charges me for the electricity I use to list my internet. Breaking the law. Apple computers sold me the computer I used. Breaking the law. And how do you think Kijiji makes money? They sell ads on their site. So the more people who go to the site the more they'll make on ads. So yes they make money on people listing their tickets illegally.

Kijiji had to remove adult ads from it's site because what people were offering is illegal. They still have to monitor their own site for illegal activities. Your Shaw argument does not work. Shaw does not profit from you doing something against the law on the internet. Stub Hub is directly. The higher the ticket is sold for, the more they make. They are partners with you in the transaction where they directly benefit from the fee that was made. Kijiji does not make money off of it. Shaw also does not gain anything from you doing a illegal activity. They get paid for providing a service. They are not advertising anything on their site that is illegal.

I hope all these POS scalpers get their season tickets revoked. True fans do not buy season tickets to sell at over inflated prices. So sad, but I guess thats the way it is in the bigs nowadays.

Exactly people who just buy as many tickets as possible with the intent to sell are just being plain d!cks. Hopefully other scalpers get busted to, its kinda funny for them, they once had a ticket to the biggest game in Wpg history and paid a fair price for it but now they lost that, the money the paid for it and are being charged. Hope it was worth it.

I would guess a lot prople bought extra tix to fund the seats they would sit in. If TN or the official source will not allow someone to sell over, it is a loosing deal. Only other way is to go to other sites or stand around the corner. Gets to be a full time job of selling extra tix, especially at a profit, not to mention against the law. Will be interesting to see how long TN fights this and in what markets.
It will be interesting to see how long the people who finance their tix through this method can hang on. Especially for 3,4 and 5 years.

I wish there were more families out there who would just sell me their house for the price they paid. That would be fair! The housing example doesn't quite work. Homeowners own their homes, or in my case, co-own with the bank If I decide to rent out my home, I would have a rental agreement with the renter. The renter would not be allowed to rent out the home to someone else for more money, and take the profit. When you purchase a ticket to a sporting event or concert, you don't own the seat, you're paying to use the seat (rent) it for that event or concert, not sell it for a profit.

Update on Jets scalper situation:
So a buddy of mine from out of town picked up some tix online, and when he got to the game, when they scanned his tix, we was asked to go to Ticketmaster. Once there, they asked him whom they had bought the tix from and exactly how much they had paid, signing a sworn affadavit. Then they were allowed to go to the game, but were told that whomever had sold the tix to them had had their season tix cancelled. Pretty sure I had seen another couple guys have to do the same thing. So if you're on the waiting list, be happy that you're getting that much closer!
Anyone else notice this going on? I wonder how many got caught.

Wonder if they were in a similar situation, or just got burned buying bogus tickets.

I sure hope they didn't get scammed and not able to see the game.

That or an all out scam on people who forward their tix and enter with the printed paper TM ticket and then go out and sell the actual non-valid tix. It is a short career and most likely will loose thier ST privledges.

I saw a few people making their way through the huge crowd to the exit looking REALLY pissed off presumably having just been turned away. Did anyone else see the "WILL BUY ANY TICKET" sign?

All this stuff about being turned away at the door kind of frightens me a little. I have a pair of tkts for the next Habs gameon Dec 22nd, I want to trade those tkts for a pair for the Leafs game on new years eve, and I've posted this on Kijiji. How do I know that the tkts that I'm going to get are legit?
and How does one protect him/herself when selling a tkts at face value that the next guy doesn't sell them at scalped prices ?
Jeez
