All this stuff about being turned away at the door kind of frightens me a little. I have a pair of tkts for the next Habs gameon Dec 22nd, I want to trade those tkts for a pair for the Leafs game on new years eve, and I've posted this on Kijiji. How do I know that the tkts that I'm going to get are legit? and How does one protect him/herself when selling a tkts at face value that the next guy doesn't sell them at scalped prices ? Jeez Where are your seats?

Update on Jets scalper situation: So a buddy of mine from out of town picked up some tix online, and when he got to the game, when they scanned his tix, we was asked to go to Ticketmaster. Once there, they asked him whom they had bought the tix from and exactly how much they had paid, signing a sworn affadavit. Then they were allowed to go to the game, but were told that whomever had sold the tix to them had had their season tix cancelled. Pretty sure I had seen another couple guys have to do the same thing. So if you're on the waiting list, be happy that you're getting that much closer! Anyone else notice this going on? I wonder how many got caught. Brilliant. That's a great way to handle it. Punish the scalpers, not the buyers who just wanted to go to the game. Bravo to TNSE.

Jeez Sign an agreement with the buyer that they will not re-sell and if they do that they will follow all of TNSE/Winnipeg Jets rules for the re-selling of tickets. At least this would protect you from TNSE taking away your season tickets. you would need to ID the buyer and ensure all the information to be accurate.

If you're looking to swap tickets with someone, I would insist that the tickets be forwarded to you through email and vice versa. That way there is a record of the transaction on seatexchange. Also, I don't think once seats are emailed to someone and accepted the original owner can cancel them. Probably a good idea to do a face to face hard copy ticket transaction still to see who you're trading with. If anyone refuses to email the tickets to you I'd stay away. EDIT: I just checked and the tickets I had emailed were "accepted" by the recipient. Now the game I traded for shows in my Jets account and I have no control over the game I traded away, although it still shows under the "Manage my tickets" heading. If you want a safe exchange, email is the way to go. Only thing that sucks is it will cost you $2.50 a seat to print the new tickets out. It's worth the peace of mind IMO.

With all these scalpers losing their season tickets, has any one heard anything about people on the waiting list getting season tickets this year.

A friend of mine has told me his neighbour got a pair of tickets, and was around #3000 on the waiting list. I am just going by his word though, I don't have proof.

I would think that if ppl are losing all their season tickets then there should be a story in the paper about someone on the waiting list reaping the benefits. Now that would be a feel good story in the paper!

I think for the remainder of this year, the season ticket holders who's tickets were cancelled will likely be put in the game day pot of tickets.
TNSE would make more money this year and would be easier to start fresh next year with moving the waiting list people up to the top.

So lets say they use the scenario above, what are the predictions on scalpers caught this year?
I say we have 20 season tickets changing hands by next season...

So then what are the waiting list people paying a fee for this year for? m.

The other thing to consider is current season ticket holders will be given the right to "upgrade" their seats on a priority basis. I don't have a link for this, but I discussed it with my ticket rep when selecting our tickets. It will be interesting to see how this process works.

I think every one on the list had to pay a $50 or $100 non- refundable deposit that did not go towards season ticket purchased in the future. Next year you would have to pay $50 to stay on the list which goes towards season tickets.
