TNSE completely ignored the Original Jets and showed them ZERO respect on Sunday and that, combined with the "we don't retire numbers" policy tells me that they likely never will, at least not in a way that shows a lick of class.
Heisinger being on the ice with Thompson and Chipman, but no Cheveldayoff was a HUGE slap in the face to our GM. (That and the media shoving Heisinger down our throats for weeks and throughout the game tells me that this is just the first few nails in Chev's coffin here.) All this tells me is that we're headed to some dark places unless Thompson puts his foot down and stops the Moose politics from dominating the Jets.

The Moose needs to be shot, stuffed and mounted.

Heisinger has no respect for the JETS, (as he has admitted countless times,) and omitting Chev was disrespectful.

Heisinger has no respect for the JETS, (as he has admitted countless times,) and omitting Chev was disrespectful. the reason zinger was out there was to honor rick rypien not becsaue TNSE likes him better than Chevy, you really need to learn some stuff about this team and organization before posting. Chevy has known zinger and chipman for years going back to the IHL, Chevy is in no danger of losing his job to zinger. They offered the GM job to zinger and he didnt want it. From now on do a little research before disrepsecting this organization. If it wasnt for Chipman you would never see another nhl game in winnipeg.

The concourses are very small, however the problem is not the width it's the length of the concourses. Other arenas have similar issues but the arena is larger so there is combined extra space to move around and have more offerings like concessions, shops, restaurants, etc. You lost me with the length comment. The MTS Centre is narrow. The length is actually fairly normal. These are the figures for the site. Site dimensions 300' x 490' (147,000 sq. ft.) Habs 21,000 capacity Arena is Area : 168,780 ft2 (351' x 479') Also, MTS Centre I believe was designed by the same firm that designed the Sharks' arena, which is also smallish. Here are the dimensions: Building Dimensions: Length -- 425 by 425 feet; Height -- 117 feet; As you can see, MTS Centre's length is not the issue. It's the width. Further, compare the internal space between these 2 smallish NHL arenas: MTS Centre: Interior Area -- 440,000 sq. ft. HP Pavilion Internal Space -- 450,000 square feet Tell us something we don't know. It was built only partially with the NHL in mind. However, a smallish arena works for Winnipeg - witness the $82 average ticket price and all sold out. That's the first I've heard that they are considering expanding it. To add 1,000 plus seats I believe they'd have to expand the footprint and do a major renovation.

Chipman said in his post game interview on CBC that they are not thinking of expanding and that he likes the arena the size it is now becasue it creates the high demand that really makes us work in the NHL

All this tells me is that we're headed to some dark places unless Thompson puts his foot down and stops the Moose politics from dominating the Jets. They honoured the old Jets just fine. At some point enough is enough. I can't believe there are people out there watching an NHL hockey game in Winnipeg cheering on the HOME team complaining about not "honouring" the past. Really?? Whatever floats your boat I guess but I'm looking forward to the future and couldn't be happier that I get to take my kids to NHL hockey here in Winnipeg. If they told me I had to disown the old Jets to get tickets to the current team...so long Teemu. I can't afford to buy a franchise, can you? As for the perceived lack of "honour"...the pre-game video was good and all about the Jets (not Atlanta) It was enough for one game. At some point a hockey game needed to get played. Hell, I'm not big on pre-game ceremonies etc as I think the players cool off after warm-up standing around for 20 minutes while we intro everyone, watch a video, drop a puck for no reason, listen to an anthem and on and on and on. You're entitled to your opinion that it was a "slap in the face" to Chevy. I disagree. Who knows what Cheveldayoff thinks. Did he even care? Hardly a "slap in the face" if it didn't matter to him. Is it possible that Zinger was out there as he has a relationship with the Rypien family? That would make A LOT of sense to me. Cheveldayoff made the first draft pick, not Zinger. Was that a slap in the face to Zinger. Maybe that's why he's been so moody. I agree with those who say Zinger has been a downer, but this speculation and the "theories" starting to float around are getting ridiculous...one game into the season.

Am I wrong?
Heisinger has several threads devoted to his distain for the Jets and everything about them. (He has gone on record numerous times and Chipman has stated it even further.)
Maybe when you aren't a teenager anymore you will get why I am bothered with the negative attitude towards the JETS by the current regime...

Im not a teenager i just dont have any respect for you becasue you disrespect this organization that has brought NHL hockey back to winnipeg. Your whole idea that zinger wants Chevys job makes no sence. Zinger doesnt want the NHL gm job, he is the assistant gm and vp of hockey ops as well as the gm of the ice caps, he is quite happy with those jobs. Also your idea that zinger is trying to stab Chevy in the back doesnt hold water. Chevy and zinger are friends and go back to the time they spent as gms in the AHL, and chevy and Chipman go even further back to the IHL. And again zinger was only on the ice for that first puck drop to honor Rick Rypien.

First off your profiles states you were born in February of 1993 and are 18 years old. FACT.
Second of all, your defenses of Heisinger are pretty much alone on this board from what I've seen due to his attitude towards the Jets past and present. (Which is very common knowledge and a very negative attitude towards the team.) Do I think Heisinger is stabbing Chev in the back? Yes I do and there is a lot of evidence, (especially with all the press stories about him and campaigning for him to get the GM job,) that would suggest that this is indeed the case.
Heisinger is Mike Smith 2.0.

Kid gets debunked, resorts to calling people "trolls". Typical... ok last one, your calling me a kid yet no kid that I know of can afford 2 season tickets at $2400 each. Im in section 317 and i bet you wont see the inside of the mts center this year unless its for a concert or you pay 3-4x what the tickets cost. Support your team and stop attacking it.

Everyone, please keep the discussion respectful and refrain from personal attacks, thanks.
For the record, I don't think Big Chris' comments on the topic of this thread are trolling.
Zinger has probably been beat up enough for one day though...
