With Enstrom coming back perhaps serious consideration should be given to Buff playing the wing, would be as good as getting a top power forward in a trade.

No.
I think Buff has been playing hurt for a few weeks now. Just a guess. But even a hurt Buff is better on "D".

Bruinny, you're new to the forum so I'll cut you some slack, but this might be the 5th or 6th Buff to forward thread. Not happening... no discussion.

Hahahaha Hillarious to think that the topic or merrit of the topic has anything to do at all length of memebership to the forum.
No doubt this has been posted many times before, however different situations/circumstances at different times call for different attempts at a solution, and stating that Buff should never move to forward is short sighted and not looking at the big picture.
With Enstrom coming back it allows for at the very least the consideration of what moving Buff to forward would do. Don't get me wrong I love Buff at d and think the dynamic that he brings is very rare, but lately ( and yes he could be injured but that doesn't give a guy a free pass ), he has been a liability on d turning the puck over, and he has been soft on the puck in his own end he actually looks exhausted.
On the wing he can create space for his linemates and you would see that the forwards would each grow about 6 inches with him out there, very similar to Lucic in Boston. The Jet forwards with the exception of the Ladd line have been soft on the boards and getting pushed around with the odd game being the exception, this would change with Buff on forward.

Logically it is a good move for us considering how many defensemen we have waiting to enter the line up...
Enstrom-Bogo Kulda-Hainsey Meech-Clitsome
Now, the top 4 isn't too shabby, but a huge drop after that. But this would give us a huge upgrade at forward...
Ladd-Little-Wheeler Kane-Burmi/Wellwood-Buff Wright-Antropov-Wellwood/Burmi Miettenen-Jokinen-Thorburn
But its all moot, because Buff doesn't want to play forward again. So its all just fantasy...

interesting to see what that would do for Kane....he might get a whole lot more ice and he might pass to Buff as well (that lack of predictability would open it up for him)....it would be a cool experiment but Buff would have to be in better shape for sure....

Length of membership has a ton to do with it bruinnyandthejets becasue this topic has been brought up at least 6 times in the last few months, and every time it ends with the simple fact that Noel has said he has never considered moving him to forward and Buff has no interest in playing forward, and unless your going to put him on the top line, his ice time is going to go from 23-24 minutes to 15-16 minutes which is a waste. BUFF IS A DMAN, END OF DESCUSSION.

How about moving Slater to D?
After all, he's a good defensive player with offensive weaknesses. Therefore he should be a defenceman.
