As a Sweden fan, I ain't even scared. As long as we stay out of the box...which has been a problem all tournament especially against Latvia There's no team I loathe more than Team Canada...time to have the ghost of Peter Forsberg lend us a hand! HEJA SVERIGE!! Haha! Maybe next Olympics! Maybe not! What's the excuse now? Definitely got outplayed, although the Backstrom news didn't help. Sweden was behind the 8 ball missing 4 of their top 6 forwards, as Kronwall said they needed to play a perfect game and they didn't. Plain & simple. Without Lundqvist it would've been 7-0...although it makes me wonder how different the game would be if Nyquist didn't hit the post

Congratulations to Russia for putting on a fantastic Olympics! People of Russia be proud. Many had doubts (myself included) but I felt you captured the spirit of the Olympics. (This isn't an endorsement of some of their policies/laws/human rights issues, just a kudos to the Russian people for pulling off what many thought was going to be a disaster) the media quieted some really bad problems in the skiing and snowboarding events. The Slalom course was set up by one of the competitor's father, caused half the field including medal favorites to DNF. Halfpipe? caused everyone issues and essentially was unpredictable. The downhill could have killed someone. Overall they pulled off a very poor olympics without any major issues....but it was a poor spot. unfortunately the olympics after 2016 arent coming back to this hemisphere for along time since neither usa or canada is bidding for 2022, maybe in 2024 and 2026 the us or canada can grab a games....boston is considered for one of those 2...Id prefer winter, which we would have an easier time hosting.

Overall, congrats canada, good tournament, a workman like tournament.
Im happy for Claude and Bergeron. But im still going to vehemently root against you next year at the wjc and in 2 years at the potential world cup of hockey.

Lol. lol thats what i call his coaching (i watch it alot) requires centers to be more defensive, defense is layers and strong. I dont think anyone can question Claudes influence on that tournament...especially looking at how much time bergeron got. Canada has 7 #1 or 2 defensemen...and they showed it. it was impressive

One of the best, if not the best, display of domination by a Canadian senior hockey team EVER. I remember the juniors from 2005, but it was... junior.
You could feel they aimed for one thing: gold. Something I didn't sense at the same level in 2010.

I'll be supporting both my beloved Canada and Great Britain! oh, wait... Speaking of England, I saw yesterday after my game some pee-wee players from England, being in QC for the international tournament, skating with their parents. I LOL'ed a lot at the ones that were skating for their 1st time ever, looking at my 5 year old skating like he is Sidney Crosby!

What a finish to the women's hockey game. Beauty Behind in the forum's... but yes, that game was an absolute classic! I took all of last week off to watch the oly's. Fortunately with the gold sweep in curling and hockey it was worth it!

I am so excited about this game. I hope this game is going to be super exciting. I had a feeling that Canada and Sweden would end up being gold medal game. I am still debating if I want to wake up at four am to watch the game. I'm thinking it's a once every four year thing. I think it's stellar that bars are allowed to be open and able to serve beer, no whiskeys or anything though. Watch the game with people. Anyone else having to get up real crazy early to watch the game, or going to? I was watching at Tavern United. Pretty neat experience to get to order a beer in a bar at 5:15 AM then cheer and watch Canada win a gold medal! I probably shouldn't have ordered the 6th and 7th beers though... Great tournament. To the poster who said the scores were closer than the games were and that Canada truly dominated - good post. Couldn't agree more.
