i've never understood the hate for Westwood outside of the usual jealousy. Figured it out. Blind love for Khari. Questioning why people dislike Westwood. How's it going Troy. Thanks for losing the 01 Grey Cup for us. Missing 3 of 4 in the big game...yet talk so much smack.

i've never understood the hate for Westwood outside of the usual jealousy. I don't hate Westwood, I just find he has little radio talent, and his voice actually annoys me. "Usual jealousy"? That is funny!

Most outstanding player. Wouldn't it be nice to have a QB like that? There is far too much blind hate for local celebrities and it usually boils down to jealousy. Posting on here isn't the same as being on the radio everyday. "Lawless is fat" is often used to sum up his journalistic abilities. Now you don't like westwoods voice. Just eye rolling none sense from many people on here.

lol, a few things (if some of the above post is directed at my post) As mentioned I don't hate Westwood. I used to stand up for him when many would crap upon him during his playing days. I don't mind him as a local "celebrity", some of his antics were quite enjoyable. I am definitely not jealous of him, or anyone else for that matter, I am quite happy with my life. I never would think posting on this forum is the same as being on the radio. Don't know where that thought came from? I never have refereed to Lawless as fat. His weight and journalistic abilities IMO have nothing to do with one another. Not sure where that came from either. I personally find Westwood's voice on the radio annoying. No big deal. That is my opinion. He is on the radio, I find his voice annoying. One is not allowed to have an opinion, it's just eye rolling non-sense? Let's say I like the taste of lemonade, and you like iced tea. Will you say that my preference for lemonade over iced tea is "eye rolling non-sense"? Will you try to justify why iced tea is better? It's a preference, that's all. People are different and have different tastes, some like country music, some like rock 'n' roll, some like Matchbox, some like Hot Wheels (way cooler IMO), some like chocolate ice cream, some like strawberry ice cream, some like Smith & Wesson some like Colt. Some people like the big show, many more do not. Ratings actually prove that one. ZING!!! People are going to disagree with you; you like Troy Westwood's, radio presence that's fine, I don't see why you have to justify that. I find his voice annoying, no hate, no jealousy, no eye rolling non-sense. Just my opinion/preference.

First week with Paul Edmonds is complete. I thought it was an improvement, big improvement actually, over the Troy and Matt show.

Agreed, Westwood was just throwing in a few comments as opposed to running the dialogue. From the S4 of Grumpz! Phase 1 complete! Now figure out what to do with Buff & find a #1 goalie.

My opinion is mixed. Paul is great. Sounds good, keeps things moving, keeps thing on point. Sounds professional.
But a lot of the emotion is missing. Weswood and Matt might have got a little goofy at times but I found their discussions often mirroring discussions I would have with friends. they were tuned into the emotional issues of the day (or moment). Paul keeps things a little more sterile.
Anyone else find the Jim Rome show on 1290 unlistenable? Just horrible radio.

Why should a player pass the puck 100% on a 2 on 0 with the net empty? Why is it OK for black players to use the "n" word and not be flagged in the NFL, but if a white player uses it in the exact same context, they should? It's not idea of what he says that bothers me because it kind of makes sense, but how can the NFL police that? The truth is, it's not that easy like he thinks, and it will likely be an all or nothing rule change. Just stupid arguments he makes that have no backing. From the S4 of Grumpz! Phase 1 complete! Now figure out what to do with Buff & find a #1 goalie.

I didnt hear his statement about that so I cant really comment. I usually find myself agreeing with him outright or at least saying "he has a point". And generally speaking, he's going to be far more on-point than most of us since he's actually a pro sports player and has been in many a locker room. But the N-word is a terrible word that shouldn't be used by anyone and a lot of black people and black leaders agree. It's hard to argue with someone who is not black who uses it in the same context as a black person. The argument will be whites haven't "earned" the right to use it. Quite honestly I cringe when I hear it all all, even in non-malicious contexts.

Paul Edwards this morning pushing the idea players dont want to play here (in talking about the importance of signing Stuart to a long term deal). I wonder how many players will need to sign long term deals here before we stop talking about how no one wanta to play here.

And they did a bit on how Ryan Miller would have us at 29th of cities he'd want to come to (after Buffalo). They figured he'd be interested in Edmonton. Oh come on! Why would Edmonton rank above Winnipeg? m.
