It will be interesting to see how they draw.To bad for ST Johns but it is no good if we can't get players up quick enough . It's just to far away.I was recently in the Outer Hebrides Scotland, standing on the shore looking east and told the people we were staying with I thought I was closer to Newfoundland than I had ever been. They were shocked.

They love their hockey? The size of Winnipeg couldn't support the Warriors ..... Oh good grief, how ancient is that history? Literally a different millennium. Absolutely irrelevant to today's discussion. m.

I was just going to say the same thing. that is "old winnipeg thinking". those days are long gone. having OUR AHL team along side the Jets will be a recipe for SUCCESS. I know they say its "temporary thing", but mark my words, if the revenue is there, the Moose will be here long term.

Absolutely irrelevant to today's discussion. m. That's what I was thinking I was a kid when the warriors were here and I remember going. Guaranteed that many Jets fans would bring their kids out to games as they simply can't afford or even get Jets tics. Today's world is a lot different as we actually know who the prospects are...

i really cannot see the Moose 2.0 drawing that well, with 2 pro teams in Winnipeg. We just do not have the population to support both. Personally, I'm hoping for the future Moose to be relocated to Saskatoon.

I'd love to have the prospects right here in the 'peg full time. They might draw fairly well for a year or two but yeah, I don't think it would work here beyond that. Saskatoon would probably be a great spot fan-wise, they deserve pro-hockey IMO and as long as the geography works for the AHL... Winnipeg worked so I imagine Saskatoon might too.

I can't see it being more of a temporary thing regardless on revenue. Tn needs those days for concerts and other events that make more money than ahl hockey

Jets farm team moving to Winnipeg until the arena in Thunder Bay is ready. Habs farm team moving to St. John's until the arena in Laval is ready.

Thunder Bay has been mentioned as a home for the Moose franchise. and it makes sense in terms of proximity and a good-sized market with good hockey interest.

Never supported the Moose don't see that plan changing for me. Winnipeg will be a holding plan for T Bay this announcement might put a sence of urgency out there in T Bay to get the deal done and shovels in the ground.

I'd keep the Icecaps identify just to make Zinger cry.

^ They likely will, they'll rent the Bulldogs and use the Icecaps name as it have no direct ties to any franchise and can be used for any team they have from here on out.
