^ I totally support the idea of the Thunder Bay Moose. Let's them keep their brand while also promoting the Jets. Fans can watch both teams without them competing in the same market. I can't see it working in Thunder Bay. There is no arena yet, and from what I hear, there is no guarantee an arena will even be built. Maybe try Fargo-Moorhead? No but there are proposals in place and work is being done to build an arena in Thunder Bay. Should that go through I think it would be the perfect location for the Jets farm team proximity wise. |

Would Saskatoon be a good fit for the "Moose"? unfortunately, it looks like Saskatoon may not be in the cards, as the WHL Blades just signed a 5 year deal to play in the arena. I think the contract probably has a provision blocking any AHL club from playing in the building, although I could be wrong. |

If it's not the Moose, it should be the Falcons. Two points of history - first being the Winnipeg Falcons, second being the Springfield Falcons, our last AHL team from the original era.

Two quick thoughts: 1. What if TNSE didn't succumb to public pressure and name the relocated NHL franchise the Winnipeg Jets and kept the Manitoba Moose name? Would our AHL team be called the Jets then? 2. The "experts" said a city like Winnipeg couldn't support an NHL franchise and they were correct - we can apparently support an NHL franchise AND an AHL franchise.  |

I suspect the name needs to be generic enough that it could be used in other places - because this arrangement is temporary from what I hear.

A lot of what i'm reading says they are going to do a spin off of the Jets theme..the Jets brand sells a lot of merch..not a bad idea
