Sanderson may be agile and aggressive but at his size, he is going to be turned into roadkill very quickly. This does not solve any problems- we already have Pionk and Heinola who fit that description. Jake Sanderson is 6'2/185. That's roughly the same size as Trouba was in 2012. The only difference between him and Schneider, is roughly 15 pounds.

Ya, it's good to remember they are just kids and almost all have growing and filling out to do.

It is nice to have confidence that the Jet's scouts and drafters will likely do great with the #10 pick

I know it's an intangible but there's some WHL culture missing on this team. It's a tougher more physical setting for young players and gives a more playoff mindset. It's time to stock up on some "farm boys with an attitude" Ha!

Jets should be looking for centers. Period. The Score has a good rundown of possible first rounders including a Manitoban Seth Jarvis from the Portland Winterhawks.

After a deep dive (more than 15 minutes) I came up with Anton Lundell 6-1 187 lbs played with men in Finish elite year... In his draft year Vesalainen played 9 games in this league and had 1 goal. Heinola played in that league after his run with the Jets and had 7 assists in 29 games +13.
Lundell had 10 goals 28 pts and was a team best +11.
His dream comparison was Barkov.
Laine Lundell Vesalainen might be a line in 2022.
Connor Scheif Ehlers Copps Lowry Wheeler Harkins Roslovic Appleton

The height is not as important as compact mass in the form of muscle.

Out of the top-31 prospects www.eliteprospects.com/draft-center/2020/eliteprospects.com?view=info#players there are 2 guys over 200 lbs and 13 under 180. Pretty well all these 31 guys will put on 15 lbs to reach their NHL playing weight, Byfield at 6-4 215 will likely play in the NHL at 230. Wheeler who current plays at 6-5 225 was 6-4 185 in 2005-2006 as Freshman at Minnesota. He was drafted 5th overall in 2004 likely even smaller.

Want young big D ? Chisholm, Stanley, Sandberg. If they all pan out Jets will be in good shape.

Want young big D ? Chisholm, Stanley, Sandberg. If they all pan out Jets will be in good shape. Stanley is running out of time to establish himself as a legit NHL d-man. Haven't seen much of him this season but his skating was a concern. The other two may take a couple of years to develop enough where they can be accurately assessed.

Stanley "should" get in a few games next season to see where he is. Chisholm is a season or 2 away. Samberg will be starting right away. Him Poolman Boiteau (Kuli?) and Demelo have some size. Add Pionk and Morrisey to those 4 still doesn't scare too many teams however.Free agency and a trade should help. A few parts to trade but need someone to expose to Seattle.

Time for a rebuild, Wheeler, Roslovic, Niku, Heinola, Perreault, are pieces put together in some combination that could help rebuild this team. Roslovic and Niku to Columbus because Columbus is the only place I see us getting any value for Jack, and It's time to move Wheeler since he is on the back end of his career but still has value.

He has been the heart and face of this team. Chevy will have some tough decisons to make between seasons.
