Awesome, hopefully Chibr turns out to be a great one for the Jets, same goes for DiVi, this kid could be a sleeper pick, DiVi might just surprise a lot people and become the next great goaltender for the Jets, there seems to be something special about this kid, here’s hoping👍. 5-10 170LBS. Exactly what the Jets need He has also been reported as weighing only 160 lb.

Well, yet another example of the Jets front office screwing things up. Last year, they didn't play Comrie enough to keep him as an RFA and lost him to Buffalo (needed a game & a half to retain his rights). This season, it's Jonsson-Fjallby that gets to UFA status early because Winnipeg didn't play him ONE more game.
Add to that guys claimed on waivers like Eyssimont and Kovacevic.
Sounds like the kind of moves that would get GMs fired in other organizations, but not the Jets.

I go into anger spasms with his loss to the Habs who established himself as a permanent 5-6 dman.

Sorry, but I feel the same after watching him for years on the Moose and waiting for him to be given a chance, just to see it happen with another team due to Chevy's poor planning.

Draft and develop. Isn't that the Jets phony assertion? Two d men Which they have drafted and developed: Stanley and Kovacevic. Both big intimidating men. Both they marginalized and one allowed to be scooped through negligence.

Jonsson-Fjalby was a pickup and not much of a loss.

I know it's highly unlikely due to his health but J Toews would be a great start to sorting out the Jets dressing room. If he can't play then maybe the special advisor to the GM seems to be a title floating around other teams.

Mike McIntyre in today's Freep continued to be very critical of the character or lack thereof of the Jets' internal leadership. Its the stark truth but will not endear him to Jet management or several of the players. Its a clear reflection of what the great majority of posters in this forum have been saying for 2-3 seasons now and yet Jet management is blithely sailing along.

It is a bit perplexing (maybe it should not be) that the team has thought for multiple years that this current mix of players would be successful in the playoffs. Again, we have all said it here many times but the team could have made several solid 'hockey' moves that would have adjusted the team chemistry - they have just refused to do so. Same issue on the Leafs and now the Rangers - talent only beats hard work when talent works hard.

It's interesting but this team leaned heavily on Helle heading into January but when he faltered so did the Jets. And when they faltered the same longstanding issues regarding effort etc were magnified. So maybe the Jets were really operating on smoke and mirrors the first half.
Think about it. LVGK have used 5 goaltenders through the season and their main guy in the playoffs who helped beat the Jets, Broisseau, was injured in the Oilers game last night. And yet they were first overall in the Conference and are up 2-1 in the series.
The Jets need a real overhaul. I see no other way but a rebuild.

I don't think the Jets need to burn it down. There's 3 players dragging this team down. We all know who. -Bite the bullet and send Dubois to Montreal. Chevy will never win that deal so take what you can. You might get their late first round pick but it's still a long shot. -Again, bite the bullet and buy out Wheeler. Do it ASAP -Scheiffle might get you a decent return. He's relatively cheap, and offensively he produces. Chevy should be able to get a big young centre and a couple low draft picks. -There are some good prospects in the system that might be able to make the jump next year. Lucious, Perfetti, and Lambert will not add the size required but they will be entertaining. -There's always free agents and cast offs due to the cap. Some experienced players with the right leadership mindset can be had for a year or 2 at reduced rates. You might get lucky and pick up the types of players the Knights and Kraken picked up. Guys with a chip on their shoulder ready to work their butts off to prove their ex team wrong.
The 3 must go and they have to go right away. Give Helle whatever he wants for 4 yrs and Lowry gets the C and a raise.

Gabe Landeskog has announ ced he will miss the entire upcoming season (career in doubt now), so this would be a golden opportunity to trade either 55 or PLD to the Avs as they will want another center and they will still be in the hunt.

Too bad about Landeskog. He was a great player and his loss torpedoed the Avs chances of repeating a Cup win. As you speculated, there is a very good chance his career is over and Scheifele would be of interest there. I would prefer to see him in Philly, though.
