As the month of November draws to a close, the Winnipeg Jets have built some good team chemistry and are one of the hottest teams in the National Hockey League. Coming into Sunday's games, the Jets are tied for the longest active winning streak with the Los Angeles Kings (5 games) and that is just the start of some impressive statistics. The squad from Winnipeg is also tied for 2nd place in the Central Division and 7th place in the NHL with the Dallas Stars. The Jets have the 7th best expected goals percentage (xG%) in the league with 56.65% for all situations, but they jump up in to a tie for 2nd with the Boston Bruins when it comes to 5 on 5 play (60.81 xG%). The franchise is also in the top 10 in Corsi% (shots), Fenwick% (unblocked shots), and penalty minutes by opponents. Advanced stats that predict success are nice enough, but the Winnipeg Jets are proving their competence in real life as well, sitting 7th in the league for actual goal differential (+13). The squad has also received production from throughout the lineup this season, as they are one of three teams in the NHL that have 10 players with a minimum of 10 points (tied with the Calgary Flames & Vancouver Canucks). The good news also comes from the starting goaltending position, as Connor Hellebuyck has found his game and is coming off two strong performances. Those helped him improve his save percentage above the league average (.908%) and finds himself in 11th in goals saved above expected (4.8), which puts him right between two former Vezina winners in the Rangers' Igor Shesterkin and the Bruins' Linus Ullmark. The American tender is in a tie for 4th for most starts this season and has the 2nd most wins. Probably shouldn't forget that Kyle Connor is tied for 3rd in goal scoring, the Cole Perfetti-Vladislav Namestnikov-Nik Ehlers line is 2nd in the NHL in goals differential percentage (75%), and the Nino Niederreiter-Adam Lowry-Mason Appleton trio is 9th (71.4%). It definitely has been quite enjoyable watching our team this season...here's hoping that they can keep it going.

Moose are flying tonight.....After falling behind at the 12 minute mark, Manitoba responded when Lucius sniped their first goal from Bongiovanni & Capobianco to tie the game late in the 1st. They had to kill off a full-length 5 on 3 PP early in the 2nd and that seemed to inspire them. After missing out on a few scoring chances, they got their own PP and Lambert made a beautiful pass to Chibrikov for a tap in. Three minutes later, Capobianco skated the puck into the Griffins' end before passing to Lucius in the high slot. The American center spotted Bongiovanni near the right face-off dot and he 1-timed it into the net...3 to 1 after 2 periods but the Moose are back on the penalty kill to open the final frame. Salminen has kept them in it after Manitoba was heavily out-shot in the opening frame, saving 17 of 18. They are going up against former Jet Michael Hutchinson again, who has let in 3 of 16 shots after getting the win on Friday night. All the higher end prospects on the scoresheet thru 2 with Chibrikov getting a PPG, Lambert a PPA, Lucius & Bongiovanni a goal & assist, but leading the way is Winnipeg's 8th or 9th defenseman Capobianco with 3 helpers.

Manitoba held on for the 3 to 2 win, with Salminen putting up a .927 save %.
Currently the Moose have 3 players in the top 16 of rookie points per game (Chibrikov - 3rd, Lambert - 10th, and Lucius - 16th). The only other team with more than one player in the top 16 is Syracuse (TB) and they have two (which includes a guy with 1 pt in 1 game, so he could easily fall out).
Also, was looking at how the other prospects were doing and noticed that not only McGroarty is missing games, as Barlow hasn't played since Nov 8th but I haven't been able to find any injury news on either of them. DiVincentiis has returned from his injury and posted his first .900% plus game post-injury in North Bay's last game.

Injury news is available on McGroarty, you just have to scour through everything, you will find it. I’ve not seen anything on Barlow, although, I have not gone to his team’s website, thinking that it’s out there if you google himself and his injury.

So what is the injury news then? He is missing games...haven't heard anything about a diagnosis or even what body part McGroarty injured. McGroarty is out for last games of Michigans first half of their season due to apparent LBI or possibly UBI, no specifics. That news has been out there for a while. In all honesty, in my opinion, it’s a lower body injury, you can view it on TV, looks like Tail Bone issue. Can’t recall which station that I saw it on. I was sure that you knew about this, I posted it on AIH.

I said that he was injured, so that ain't news. He hurt some part of his body doesn't provide further information, which is what I initially referred to as being unable to find (i.e. specifics or timeline for return). We know that he will miss at least 4 games with Michigan, but nothing beyond that.

If you read my last post, it appears to be an injury to his Tail Bone Area, that’s what I saw on TV, it’s also what is being speculated as the injury as what was seen on TV by TV commentators. Please don’t be pissed off at me, I hope that you are not, if I upset you, I apologize.

Looking for actual facts, beyond that he'll miss at least 4 Michigan games and he hurt something when he fell hard into the ice/boards.
