Most of the time team beat writers tend to be overly enthusiastic when covering the team. They have to be to get to see and be with the team. Friesens article on interviews with Neider and Demelo was informative. Both players understood where the team is now means nothing, as evidenced with last year's results. Last years Bruins are a cautionary tale: record points and a presidents cup. What have they got to show for it? edmontonjournal.com/sports/friesen-sun-is-shining-and-winnipeg-jets-are-making-hay

Lindholm has stated he wants out of Calgary. In other words he has given up on his team and put his own needs as his priority. Sound familiar? Laine, Kane, Lemieux, Roslovic, Trouba, and so on. They poison the dressing room. Do the Jets really want to bring that type of individual into what is a solid room? Skilled man but a big pass on his attitude. An additional problem is, once Conner, Gus and Kupari are back we will have to put two guys on waivers and likely lose one or both given their play. And, adding a guy like Lindholm not only disturbs the chemistry it kicks another “good guy” to the waiver wire. There are some tricky decisions upcoming.

I believe Toninato cleared waivers on Dec 15th, so I think Winnipeg has until Jan 15th to send him to the AHL without the need of waivers again. If they wait longer than that, he'll have to clear again. Right now, Winnipeg has 26 players for 23 NHL roster spots. Despite how good Toni has been playing, past history suggests he won't maintain it and I think the Jets use the above window to send him down to the Moose and activate Kupari at some point soon. That brings it down to 25. After that, Heinola's waiver-free status and his need to get back to top form means he will also go down to Manitoba for a while, leaving the Jets with only one decision when everyone is healthy - Gusfafsson or Jonsson-Fjallby or Stanley or Chisholm??? Try to squeeze one through waivers? AJF cleared earlier in the season, doubtful he would now. The rest would likely all be claimed...though losing Stanley wouldn't make me that sad...but they should be able to get some type of low value draft capital for him instead. That's my rambling thoughts on the matter....

Jets D and G like a brick wall, Ducks just couldn't get the puck through. Very reminiscent of how the Stars shut down the Jets. Bowness-style! Difficult game, good effort, great win for the First Place Jets! “G like a Bross-Wall”😉👍!

I can see Toninato and AJF going down again. I guess we have a forward in the press box right now. If so that guy goes down/waivers as well. And I totally agree no need for a forward that doesn't understand the FIFO concept. All indications point towards a happy locker room, no need to mess with that any more than you have to.

If we want to trade Stanley, then we have to package him up with someone the other team really wants. It seems to me that his time here is done. His playing time reflects that.

And finally....yes I stayed up for the whole game. Brossoit was absolutely excellent last night. Calm, collected and in control. We are so fortunate to have such a back-up as him. If, God forbid, Helly got hurt the drop off is minor if at all. I wasn't happy with the p%^&-poor reffing, and was super glad for 88 to get a goal last night in front of his dad.

Do we have to invite/trade a stranger into our locker room? Is it an NHL rule or something? Our guys have been playing so well and are at the top of the NHL! Since Connor has been injured, everyone has stepped up and we have been getting phenomenal results from everybody. If it's not broke, why mess with it?? This is the best team the Jets has ever had... period. The chemistry is undeniable and we are seeing the best sacrifices, commitments and feats being performed, I mean look at 55 full ice play and instigated a fight for heavens' sake...lol. I am not sure of the workings around waivers and stuff, but Axe is the player I feel that deserves to stay. As much as I like Stanley, I think he will do better elsewhere. Not too familiar with the others, and I do not recall seeing Chisholm play on the team but I am still an amateur fan and will need to defer to you guys about that. Can't believe I am here, on a Saturday, watching IC and and giving my 2 cents about this...lol. I guess I am addicted to the Jets

Sure you have to be worried about chemistry but bringing in one player especially a good one shouldn't bring it down if strong. Lindholm is a good player but I'd rather a top big dman added to this team. Hanifin would be a better option from the flames. Play him with Morrissey and you will have a dangerous D. Demelo is playing great but top pairing will get squished in the playoffs. Way too small.

What about this team is an improvement from last year? Key improvements in Defensive Core Buying In ? The Great Play of Vlady and Nino? Ehlers Confidence Blossoming in place of KFC absence< which is a boost to the outcome of this team overall future tradgectory? We can trow in Helleys confidence as well only hope he can keep going when the Playoffs start?
