Hokay, I'm leaving this site. I can't believe there is this much negativity about things after 3 FREAKING games. It's absolutely ridiculous.
I'll come back after a few wins and see if the attitude changes.

In every fan forum, there are people ready to jump off a bridge after every loss and people that want to plan a championship parade after every win. Better get used to it or just don't read the threads after a loss.

Perhaps its Californian ignorance, but... Is there a real, sensible reason someone wouldn't want to play for/in Winnipeg? Aside from the matter of contention--which I don't think the Jets will be in, sorry, not this year...if things break marvellously, they MIGHT be scrappers for the final two spots, but I just don't see it, not this year--is there a reason players would want to avoid Winnipeg? That seems a bit like wanting to play baseball but not play for a team like the Cubs or Yankees or Red Sox or Dodgers... ..."Is there a real, sensible reason someone wouldn't want to play for/in Winnipeg?"... Because you can't take your daughter and friends horseback riding into the desert to see snakes in a gully! Am I correct? yes you are! ..as for your other question.. Monkeys remain because we are monkeys, and so are chimps, orangs, and all those other primates. .. look at it this way, many people accept evolution when it doesn't pertain to us, take for instance.. If multicellular organisms evolved from unicellular organisms, why are there still unicellular organisims? If amphibians evolved from fish, why are there still fish? If snakes evolved from creatures with legs, why are there still creatures with legs? etc... see how the above questions don't really hold water, one organism doesn't have to go extinct for another to evolve. if not we'll just have to agree to disagree!

Hokay, I'm leaving this site. I can't believe there is this much negativity about things after 3 FREAKING games. It's absolutely ridiculous. I'll come back after a few wins and see if the attitude changes. We could be talking about city council meetings, the viability of this market compared to others, what we WOULD be doing if we had an NHL club etc... I agree, the negativity has been a bit overboard and it funny to see how many NHL calibre coaches and GM's come here to put their 2 cents in. However that comes with the territory of actually having an NHL club in Winnipeg. Everyone has an opinion on how to do it better. I'd prefer to listen to griping and over-reacting over a few losses of the home club than discussing what we were talking about a year ago at this time. This is a good forum. I've tried out a few and I don't think there's a better one out there right now. Stick around. Don't be offended by the gripers and voice your counter-point. Makes for a better conversation to have differing opinions.

To give you an actual serious answer to the question of why certain players may not want to play in Winnipeg, it all has to do with individual personalities. Some players, for example, may prefer to play in more well-known cities, or they may not like the intense pressure of being under the microscope in a hockey mad city. Those are just a couple of examples.
Now, that said, other players may relish the idea of playing in a city where hockey is clearly number one.

Agree with Antripov....that was the slowest penalty shot ever. lol But i dont think that is the case... i dont know what the answer is, we have to stop looking like an AHL team though. ya he coulda did a better Job on that penalty shot , it almost looked like he was not even trying that pissed me off.

To be clear, I'm not saying that I actually believe that Enstrom actually wants out. I'm saying that so far, he's playing in a way that makes me wonder about that possibility, given that he was so highly touted. Now, almost everybody on the team has played pretty poorly so far, with a few exceptions.

The entire premise of this thread has no basis other than pure speculation. We've allowed it to continue despite that. If you want to continue to discuss it, go ahead but I'm moving it to OT.

First of all the thread was not meant in anyway to be panicking or jumpimg off the bandwagon etc, it was only placed here in view of what came out of Phoenix etc. I am not bashing Winnipeg at all. Yea its cold, but the best hockey town in the NHL. I was just wondering if there are any thoughts as to any players that don`t seem to want to be here. There are two decks of cards the players hold in the NHL. One they deal to the media the other to there close friends

I heard that after the win last night all of the Jets said we love it here in Winnipeg and want to stay forever! End of conversation!

I find the subject of this thread should have occurred at the beginning of the season; when people would post things based on speculation.
The seasons' already started, we have our first win (in case no one noticed) and the guys in the room want to be in the NHL playing in front of sold out crowds chanting their names -- guess what, it's tough to deny it but that's what they got!
How 'bout we celebrate that for the rest of today, by posting some positive posts that *can* be substantiated, then focus on the next game...Toronto...you know, focus one game at a time. That's what the players do.
Along that lines....I think Toronto is ripe for the pickin' -- they're lustre is starting to dull and Reimer didn't exactly have a great game last night -- which means the Toronto Media will be all over them.
Yup...I think we can steal another one and see ourselves w/ back-to-back wins.
