Wow bigchris, what are you trying to start here? I'm personally offended actually that you try to take Craigs passion for the AHL Moose and try and spin it into some hate for the New Jets. In fact, as much as I love the new Jets, don't kid yourself for a second there are many others that are fans of the Jets that also miss the Moose, the Moose exceeded the the level of expecation as an organziation for the league they were in. I only wish that TN had kept them here as our local farm club for 2 reasons. 1) So that we could keep a very watchful eye on our players and development and 2) It would have offered a continued affordable option to those that still CAN'T afford to watch NHL hockey even though its back here in Winnipeg. Craig Heisinger is a very humble man and I can't blame him one bit for missing something that he poured his heart out into, if you enjoy your Jets you should be thanking him for taking something seriously when it took most of Winnipeg years to even warm too. Without the Moose, we would have no Jets, no MTS Centre nothing.

Without the Moose, we would have no Jets, no MTS Centre nothing. Correction: Without TNSE we would not have the Jets and no MTS Centre. Don't confuse the organization with that of a minor hockey league club. Also, it is hilarious to think we needed the MTS Centre because of the Moose. No, a farm team would've been fine playing at the old barn. We needed a new ENTERTAINMENT facility -- period. And not because the farm team needed a new rink.

Sniff sniff I smells a MTS centre capacity debate brewing......... Wha? Who said anything about capacity? Just saying that some of you guys are placing way too much credit for our former farm team to where we are today when its not that clear cut.

The former farm team gave TSNE an education on how to run a hockey team, also gave them some introductions to key people in the NHL.
I guess you could say it's all a package, but I highly doubt that if TSNE didn't buy the Moose 15 years ago, we wouldn't have the NHL back

Also if it wasn't for Barry Shenkarow, we probably would not have had the Moose, and so on and so on.

I think Darren Ford is the reason we have the NHL back. Am I right, BigChris?

I think everyone is past "bashing" the Moose. We're glad that TNSE perfected their craft with them, but realistically, 95% of people are glad their gone and if there is anyone who isn't happier with the Jets, they are crazy!

With or without the Moose this city would have got a new rink! Just remember this "and it pains me to give this man any credit" but if it wasn't for Glen Murry saying no, True North was planing to build a 7500 seat arena! NO NHL!

SO, what it really boils down to is; which came first, the chicken or the egg?

I, for one, miss the Moose. They provided good, cheap family entertainment. My sons participated in many Moose sponsered activities, i.e., 50/50 , Timbits hockey etc. There is very little chance that I will attend a Jets game in the near future, but Moose tix were always available.
