It's been discussed on other threads, (most notably the Heisinger thread,) that many in the Jets' organization, mostly former Moose employees, have a distinctly negative attitude about the Jets and being at the NHL level now. Heisinger has been very openly negative about the Jets' name, the fans, (blaming us on the team moving,) and to a degree, his job. (Even though chipman PROMOTED him yet again in spite of the fact that he has no credentials other than knowing the players' jock sizes.) Is this type of negativity trickling down to the players? The initial enthusiasm seems to be lacking right now. We've all noticed Craig Heisinger's less than enthusiastic interviews about the Jets, but there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever of anyone else in the organization feeling that way. Near as I can tell, this is purely speculation on your part. I'm tempted to move this to off-topic, but I'm willing to wait to see if you have anything further to add.

I think the best way I can sum up how I feel about the Moose is this: I'm glad they were here... but I'm more glad they're gone. They obviously helped TNSE along it's path, it couldn't have hurt them to make NHL contacts and learn to run a pro hockey team but the arena and TNSE's hard work is what brought back the Jets, not the Moose themselves. Why have you quoted my post to another poster and used bolded text to emphasize your response Haha sorry... it really wasn't in response to your post. I was just going to post it as a general post not replying to anyone, but someone else had just posted something that sort of changed the subject so I really just meant to latch back onto the topic of the Moose! The bold was just cuz that was the main point of my jibber-jabber...

One thing I will say, is that I have gotten this feeling from a few front-line staff. I.e. comments that this "isn't the old Jets" and that "The old Jets are in Phoenix, not here" which are direct quotes from a ticket reps that I've spoken to. But, I certainly haven't detected any negativity from any executives other than Heisinger.

My kids will miss the in game experience of Moose games. The Moose were more family oriented than I assume the Jets are. My sons are 7, 10 & 12 so they're maybe a bit young to appreciate the NHL. We watch games on TV whenever possible so hopefully the boys will grow to love the Jets as much as I do. I LOVE THE JETS, but I still miss the Moose. You are underestimating your children. The return of the Jets are the biggest thing to Winnipeg in years. The majority of kids will forget about the Moose VERY QUICKY.

FWIW I've gotten that negative vibe from the TN front-line staff on more than one occasion. I don't know what it is but a lot of them don't seem happy about the move to the NHL. Maybe it was the ungodly hours they had to work over the past summer, maybe it's some oddball attachment to the AHL, but the attitude from some of them is palpable.

Let's see if I can put my thoughts down correctly. I could take my family to a Moose game for approx $100.00. My sons grew up watching the Moose, getting autographs, meeting players etc. They watched their favorite Moose players on TV playing for the Nucks. They will not get a chance to watch the Jets in person for a long time. Ergo, no chance to develop an emotional attachment. The adults get it. The kids don't. Just my 2 cents worth. Sorry, but you will be proven wrong. My nephews, younger cousins and friends cousins all preferred the NHL over the AHL, no exception. Get a kid to name his favorite player, and they will say Ovechkin! Crosby! Toews! or Chara! You will be hard pressed to find any kid in the entire city that misses the Moose, and dreams of becoming the next Steve Kariya, Jimmy Roy or Lee Goren. I'm tired of people whining about the Moose. We now have a team in the word's best hockey league. Get over it.

People who think they know better and try to force others to think the way they do, as if that's the only way you should think and feel; as well as the sarcastic way they try to hammer home their point.

My guess is that a lot of this comes from the greatly increased workload, but probably not greatly increased paycheque from people near to the bottom of the food chain. While understandable, this is clearly irrelevant to the team's on ice performance. I also highly, highly doubt that Craig Heisinger is having any negative effect on the players or the organization either. This subject is pretty ridiculous, if you ask me.

I'm quite astounded there is any debate on this. Yep...everyone just likes to look at negative aspects of Crap for no reason...just like the 'oh kane doesnt want to be here'...where the hell does any of this come from outside of someone reading between the lines to much in their moms basement.
