I could live with that offer. We need to bring in an RD and Chytil is a solid developing center that may be able to play more than a 100 ft game. I like the idea of a Swayman and Carlo offer better but the moving parts make that tough. I think Hellebuyck doesn’t move until later. Would prefer to get Scheifele moved pre-season. Agree on moving Scheif as soon as possible👍.

Not sure how accurate this is from NHLTradeRumor.com, but they are reporting the Jets & Rangers are discussing a trade. Here is the alleged proposal on the table: To New York: Mark Scheifele C at $6,125,000 Ville Heinola LD at $863,333 To Winnipeg: Filip Chytil C, LW at $4,437,500 Braden Schneider RD at $925,000 Not sure the money works without Winnipeg retaining some salary on Scheifele, as New York is only $700k under the cap and can't afford to really take on more salary than they give. Otherwise, it seems on the surface to be a pretty good offer for the Jets...filling a top 6 center hole and addressing a weak right side of the defense. Isn't Chytil the C for the young guns kind of line that the Rangers are high on - 3rd line I think will the other two underperforming high picks.

Many in this forum saw the signs 2-3 years ago but Cheveldayoff must believe in magic, that somehow Scheifele would experience some kind of revelation and become a complete player. Now, with the combination of his age, contract and attitude, getting good value for him will be very difficult. I fully expect him to be a Jet for some time, to the detriment of the team.

Ok. Since September is almost here let's go with this great trade idea:
To LA - Hellebuyck and Perfetti plus salary retention To WPG - Byfield and Arvidson and a 2nd
To BOS - Scheifele To WPG - Swayman and a 1st
There you go Chevy, don't say I didn't try to help you out

Just watched part of a Rangers podcast and the sports guys on this were talking about this rumour and it was quite comical. They were talking about where 55 would fit and they said they could put Wheeler on his line AND (this is the best part) they could use these two to penalty kill because the were great at on the Jets.

Kind of encouraged that there are some Boston rumblings again. They are in a bit of a pill. It is much clearer now that Lindholm will not be headed their way as I know Conroy will do whatever it takes to keep him here in Calgary. Winnipeg now knows that and can leverage the NYR rumblings about Scheifele to up the price tag. I think it is entirely possible for us to get Swayman and Carlo in a deal for Scheifele. Maybe we have to throw in Heinola or Stanley but I would lose no sleep over that.
I know this forces our hand on Hellebuyck with Swayman being in the deal but then Chevy can push Helle to LA to force NJ's hand if they want Helle. I would even be tempted to do Helle straight across for Byfield if NJ won't up their offer.
I think things are looking up for WPG to get this settled sooner rather than later and that would be so great! FINGERS CROSSED.....

I'd be happy if Sheif is no where near the new guys. A new start at building a better culture.

From a Winnipeg Free Press article talking about who is at the informal pre-training camp skates in the Peg:
"Adam Lowry, Gabe Vilardi, Alex Iafallo, Neal Pionk, Laurent Brossoit and Dominic Toninato were the established NHLers on the ice Tuesday morning. Jeffrey Viel, Danny Zhilkin, Daniel Torgersson, Henri Nikkanen, Dmitry Kuzmin, Tyrel Bauer and Parker Ford also joined them for an hour-long session led by Dave Cameron, who runs the organization’s hockey development program."
Looks like some players are pumped about the season and already skating in Winnipeg. Good to see.
Rookie training camp starts on my birthday (Sept 13th) and they set off for the Young Guns tourney in Penticton the following day. The full training camp begins on Sept 20th and more & more players should be joining the informal skates before then.
Just received notice that I've been charged for my Manitoba Moose AHLTV package (FYI - $73 Canadian for all 72 Moose regular season games). Can't wait for both the NHL & AHL to start up again.
