I dont think they are allowed to buy him out if he is still in the assistance program so he would have to come out of there first.
When is the next buyout window?
Jets need to make a significant move if for no other reason than this time of year is so frigging boring for hockey news....

In some instances, teams may receive an additional buyout window. If a team has a player who goes to arbitration and it is either settled or awarded, the team will receive a new, 48-hour buyout window that starts 3 days after arbitration has been settled or awarded. This year the arbitration dates will be between July 20th to Aug 4th and the Blue Jackets do have a player involved (Marchenko - date not set yet), so they will get a new buyout period.

Highly doubtful that Laine becomes a Winnipeg Jet again, contract in itself/length and cost per season does not fit, including Laine himself not fitting into the lineup, weβve got youth coming up that will be part of the Jets, Laine doesnβt fit in/look at the contract length and cost per season, itβs not going to happen. Just my thoughts and opinion. Cheers, 2b9πππ Unless he gets bought out Yeah, thatβs a good point. Cheers, 2b9πππ

Laine re-signing in Winnipeg to resurrect his career would be definitely be a boon in fan interest and ticket sales. Probably a very good marketing move for the Jets. From our point of view, highly entertaining. At the very least, a feel good story for us fans, who don't have much to be exited about these days. Would it work out? Maybe, maybe not. I'd be in the give it a shot camp. A return to a small market might be good medicine for the man.

Yes Agree ,It would be Good Medicine for The man Guaranteed? He has that It factor no one on the Jets team has? He can score when you really need the Goal! If Hr can get us 35 goals a Year with some defensive Play who else can do that with a Half Salary retained? Add a Good tough defense man and we are good. So why do we keep Pionk if he's such a detriment and Appleton as common a player as grass not hard to fix this?
